The WARHAWKS have posted their roster.....http://www.uwwsports.com/roster.aspx?roster=244&path=mbball

New members of the team include:

Jake Jarnigo...Lakeside Lutheran
Charlie Fischer...Arrowhead
Quardell Young...Kenosha Bradford
Tyrone Shepard...Milwaukee Washington
Spencer Koepp...Yuma, Az.
Travis Clayton...Burlington
Kevin Priebe...Glenbard East Ill.
Justin Scanlan...Plainfield, Ill.
Jack Herum...River Falls
Creed Knutson...Janesville Parker
Ben Landry...Pewaukee
Steve Egan...Omro

12 of 20 are new to the program.

Wow, I didn't realize there was going to be this much turnover of the roster for Whitewater as well as Point.  BW, do you know anything on the two transfers, Sheppard and Koepp??

I saw Herum play a few times in high school, and he should be a good addition to the Warhawk program in the future.  I compared him to a defensive stopper like Nick Krull at Point last year.  He isn't going to wow anyone with his athleticism, but he is a very heady player who seems to be in the right place at the right time.

I was at today's practice but I don't really know who's who right now.

If Shepard is who I think he is he'll really help.  He's a very athletic, smooth player. Perfect for our system.
I'm not sure who Koepp was so I can't really comment on him.
Charlie Fischer looks like he'll play right away.

Essentially, with one exception, it seemed that those players off last year's roster who likely would only have contributed marginally, if at all, decided not to return.

Is the D2 scrimmage vs. Mich. Tech. open to the public?  Do they do this every season?

All scrimmages are mandated to be open to the public and free by the NCAA... don't ask me to cite that, just take it as true.

And Point has scrimmaged Michigan Tech for at least the last 4 or 5 years... I watched part of the MTU scrimmage before the 06-07 season (I think that's when it was... based on when I lived in Point and switching home/away for the scrimmage).

It's not actually mandated by the NCAA. According to the 2010-11 NCAA Division III Manual, 17.3.3.1(a) (page 135), the only two stipulations concerning preseason practice scrimmages are that they shall not be publicized and no official score shall be kept. The "no publicity" rule is typically interpreted by a D3 institution as meaning, "Go ahead and open up the doors to the public ... just don't put it on any print or online schedules or on a press release, and don't charge admission." And the officials who work scrimmages usually enforce the "no official score" rule by making the scoreboard operator reset the score at the end of every period or half.

Thanks.  I am going to try to make it.  I'm interested to see how this younger team does.

Well, there ya go!  I knew there were stipulations... I just got the wrong ones.  Thanks Greg.

I don't want to get in any hot water with the NCAA, so I can't publish the time ........... Oh wait, can they penalize a fan??  ::) I guess if I don't actually post the time it should be OK. :-X  It starts pretty close to 2:59PM. :-X :-X

When the NCAA stormtroopers break down your door and carry you away to the college sports version of Guantanamo, don't say that I didn't warn you. ;)

Last year in Madison the Badgers didn't reset the score at halftime.  Does this mean they will be on probation?

There's a difference between an exhibition and a scrimmage.  In exhibitions, you can keep score.

... I'll let GS provide the requisite NCAA citation.
