Falcons continue to struggle on the road. I dont know what it is. Frustrating.

Manor is having a great start to the year, but he was pretty inconsistent last year. Hopefully he can do it for the entire season.

RF can't get a goose-egg from Wade Guerin. If that keeps happening, its going to be a long season. Maybe it was an injury, Idk. Im obviously not as in the loop as I was last year.

I can't seem to find one for SJU.  The closest I could come up with is the Benedictine cross...

Guerin got in very early foul trouble, and is not injured. The  center, Gittens, 6"9' and the mvp of a previous tournament, also got in early foul trouble. Neither played much beyond the first quarter and a half. Puget Sound is a "solid team," according to fan who saw the game. As you mentioned, Falcons04, 36% shooting loses.

It's not apparent from my previous post, but Gittens is the Puget Sound center.

New Top 25 out:

SP up to #23
WW up to #24
RF down to #25

Hard to really place this year's WIAC crowd... I think the league on a whole is pretty young so there will be some ups and downs.

RF seems on paper to have the most weapons but their start has been anything but stellar, with the exception being the nice victory over a young St. Thomas team (who was picked #1 in the MIAC and, I believe, overrated as the preseason #8 pick in the country).

SP has had a pretty good start for a young team... especially if you take away the second half of the St. Johns game.  Hard to believe that team will be 7th out of 11 in the usually top-heavy MIAC the way SJU shot the ball, but Point will probably lose some games they should win and possibly win some games they should lose this year.

I don't know that much about WW... but I've heard that they're dissimilar to WW teams of the past.  I'm not sure if that's true or not... I haven't seen them play.

Eau Claire's 5-1 start is surprising to me with a new coach.  Now, decidedly, they're not beating the world here... but the W over Concordia appears to be a good one (and it's a win that La Crosse and Platteville couldn't get... the Falcons stand at 3-1).  I never pick Eau Claire, so the LaX pick over them for Saturday's game was an easy one... but EC seems to have a knack for winning close games (or so it would seem... 4 of their 5 victories and their loss were all by fewer than 10 points).

33-13 for the league is a good start... but it's not quite up to the 80% clip we've had in some recent years.

WHITEWATER'S Chris Davis named WIAC Player of the Week

Davis had 52 points and nine rebounds over two games as the Warhawks remained undefeated at 4-0. In an 84-61 win at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Nov. 22, he led the Warhawks with 23 points, making 10-of-15 shots and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. Davis also had a game-high nine rebounds. Against Hamline University (Minn.) on Nov. 27, Davis contributed a game-high 29 points, including 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. He also added three rebounds.

Nope.  CUW is 3-1.  The BluGolds are 5-1.

Stoutguy...will you be on the mike down here Saturday?

No, BW, this old, tired guy is just doing a few high school bb games this winter.

Bummer, I always look forward to seeing you.  I'm doing color commentary for some high school games again this year.

Same to you BW.  Good to hear you are doing some color games.  I'm sure you will be good.  Jason asked me if I could come down to WW to do the doubleheader and I had to play the "Badgers play a night game" card.

I'm very impressed with these students doing the UWW-IWU game.  They do well to sound like UWW's home announcing team without sounding obnoxiously "homer-ish."  They sound very well prepared and have a lot of nice background information.  Not a lot of umms and uhs and dead air. They follow the flow well. Very, very well done.  Kudos.
