Greek Tragedy

UWRF,

I feel the same way for Giants vs. Patriots! LOL :)  I really dislike both teams.  With the Packers and Saints out, my wife wants the Giants to win.  I can't convince myself to root for the Patriots though.  Maybe there will be a good EPL game on tape delay on Super Bowl Sunday!

I don't really care who wins between the Giants and Patriots though I suppose if I were forced to pick one I'd go with the Giants.  They're the NFC rep and beat us so we could at least take consolation in knowing we lost to the world champions.

What I am really glad about is that it isn't the 49ers and Ravens.  If I had to spend the next two weeks listening to the media go on and on about the Harbaugh brothers and family I'd get sick to my stomach.  I've had way more of that than I need.

I am extremely uninterested in the Super Bowl this year. I dont like both teams either and I really dislike Eli Manning ever since he came into the NFL complaining. I will take the Patriots hopefully, as long as it's a good game I suppose. The real winner will be the commercials  ;D

Yeah this Super Bowl is about equal to a game played by Whitewater-Stevens Point in my opinion. Too bad WW-SP games don't have awesome commercials :)

Really?  I think WW v SP is way better than the Super Bowl!

I think WW has to beat RF in their next meeting for SP have an edge over the Falcons. If RF beats WW, the Falcons have the edge via a 2-0 head-to-head.

I think this was the best game the Pointers have played thus far this year. They matched WW's physicality and did not force much. D Tillema plays so much better when he slows his game down and T Tillema seems to play better when he speeds his up. Brezinski played well also, but I just wish he didn't end up outside so much when shots are taken so he could be in position for some offensive rebounds. When he rotates within the offense it seems like he always ends up away from the bucket.

I think a big concern for Point is Dan Tillema's foul trouble.  I've seen one game in person.  Why is he getting into foul trouble?  Is he guarding taller players?  Faster players?  Is he just foul prone?  Are they "dumb" fouls?

I've seen about five pointer games this year and I have no explanation for Dan's fouls.  Foul prone? I think he's pressing too much. In prior years he was not the main focus and that allowed him to just flow with the game. Now that he is the senior leader he is trying too hard at times and hurrying his game, which has led to offensive fouls. He seems to get more offensive fouls on post-up moves than just about anyone I've seen this year. (Lots of flops by defenders too  :D) When he slows down and gets into the game flow he is so much better.

Ziemer has been getting some minutes lately. He has quick hands and feet and it's gotten him some steals, and he sees the court pretty well too. He had some good minutes against RF and WW, but Coach Semling has a quick hook and seemingly a long memory.

My bad for some reason I thought Point and River Falls had split their two meetings.  Double checking I see that River won both of them and that would change things in certain senarios.

Falcons04

RF with a hard fought 61-53 win over Platteville tonight.  Manor with 18 and Guerin with 13 pts 6 rebs off the bench.  He didn't start because of an ankle injury, but ended up playing 26 minutes.  Platteville looked bad on offense in the first half only scoring 20 points on 34% shooting, but came out with a run in the second half to get back in it.  Game was close for most of the second half, with RF icing it on the line.  Interesting stat...RF was 13-16 at the line (9-9 in 2nd half) while Platteville was 0-4.  Can't remember seeing a game where a team makes 0 FT's.  Platteville appears to have some promising young players.  #34 Manning had some impressive stretches with good size/strength.  Not sure how healthy Cross is after being injured early in the year, but he was not much of a factor before fouling out.  RF has a week to rest before going to EC.

Good road win by UWSP.  Nice game TT!  But we continue to have no inside presence beside JB.  Can any one tell me why Richards continue to play before any of the bench players?  Am I missing something?  Last game:  34 Richard, Alex.......    0-0    0-0    0-0    0  0  0   0   0  0  0  0  0   2.  You mean to tell me there is no one else that can give you goose eggs????? We need to give JB some help!!!  Something just doesn't seem right!  I listened to the coach's post-game interview and I think it's not right for him to say there is no one who came come in off the bench.  I go to school with some of the guys.  What production are getting from the people you are currently bringing in???  I know we are guard oriented but this is getting to be questionable.  I know we are winning but where is the development of the players you currently have?
