In addition to RF vs. Edgewood, it's Wheaton vs. Gustavus at RF, either Mar. 1 or 2 (whatever that means), then round 2 games Mar. 3, but bracket does not say where. UST goes to WW.

The entire pod will be in RF.  The RF/Edgewood and Gustavus/ Wheaton games will be Friday night with the winners facing off Saturday night.

I'm thinking way ahead here... But what would happen if UW-W & UW-RF both advanced and played each other..Where would that game be?

Depends on the other pod.  Whitworth and Virginina Weslyan would have the strongest arguments for hosting if they advanced.  Depends on whether the NCAA wants to pay for 2 flights or 3. If they decide on only 2 flights, then whoever was ranked higher in the last regional rankings between UWRF and UWW would most likely host.

I know they said we would see the final rankings this year, so I suposse we will know shortly.  But River Falls was 2-0 this week vs. Reg Rk Whitewater 0-1, plus a head-to-head win so I think it may be RF who gets to host if they go with 2 flights

Excuse me, but do you have any advice on the best way to get from California (San Francisco) to Whitewater Wisconsin?
Should we fly into Chicago or Madison?
Is there a lot of snow to drive thru?
:)

Snow is pretty minimal right now, although it is supposed to rain/snow most of the week and Madison is about a half hour closer.  Never been to the Madison airport though so I don't know what that will get you.

Milwaukee might actually be closest and potentially cheapest.  A number of budget airlines (Southwest, Airtran, etc) fly into MKE.

Milwaukee probably is your best option. Madison is great if it works, but there's not as many flights in and out daily. Also check Rockford, but that's similar to Madison. Chicago should be a last resort.

Any chance of a sell-out at Whitewater?  I had to work pretty hard to get a ticket to the playoffs last year at St. Thomas, but from doing a little research, it seems Whitewater doesn't have much history of filling up the gym.  I fear that sooner or later the gigantic (for d3) Whitewater student body would decide to start going to basketball games, and I would be driving for 5 hours in the snow without much certainty of being able to walk up and get in.

Please convince me that either:
A) your students will stay in their dorm rooms on Friday night, or
B) that you'll let Northwestern cast away from 3 allowing me to drive down for the Saturday game only.

If you are able, buy your ticket in advance from NWC. Then you'll know you have a seat and you'll be with the NWC fans. A lot of visitors set up will-calls.

There was no will-call set up last year.
I don't know what to expect from NWC, they're going to be on spring break, but they sold out their allotment for the similar sized gym at St. Thomas last year despite being on spring break.  Of course, NWC students could have ridden their bikes to get to St. Thomas, but I still would think a sell-out of their allotment of I'm guessing 300 would be a possiblity, and I'd prefer to skip the extra hour of driving over to NWC if I can avoid it.

I'd would be very pleasantly surprised if it were a sell out but I really doubt that will happen and I would expect walk up tickets to be available for the game.  The gym seats 3000 (I think it is) and the largest crowd to date has been just over 1200.  The last time we hosted a postseason event the crowd was about 1600.  Walk up tickets were available for that game.

Falcons04

No definite details yet for the times in RF on Friday, but from what I've heard the games will be split session and the gym cleared in between.  Not sure how well Wheaton and Edgewood will travel, but I expect a large following from GAC.  One other factor for RF is the women made it in and play at St. Thomas on Friday, and boys HS regional play starts the same night with RF going to Menomonie.  Probably won't affect the crowd too much, but will thin out some from RF that would normally be there.

I'm a bit worried about Karges' ability to get people in and out with any efficiency, but I'm very excited to have the Falcons at home.

Greek Tragedy

I would be shocked if Whitewater sold out.  Several years ago, Whitewater hosted Carroll U and IWU, along with DePauw.  Carroll is located in very near Waukesha and IWU is one of the best traveling teams in basketball.  Needless to say, there were still plenty of tickets available.

The WIAC website showed 2500 for the Whitewater vs. DePauw game (with Carroll and IWU playing the 1st game of the night), then just 1750 for the championship game of the "regional".  That's pretty bad, IMO.
