Cody O was on fire...

...in the first half!!  VWU played a little D on him in the second . . . but forgot about Davis.  Nice win . . . on to Salem.  ;)

That's why I said "was".  VWU pressed up on him after his torid start.  Cody was really aggressive and really set a good pace as then Davis took over inside against a smaller VWU team.  I don't know if VWU could shoot the three or not in other games but it seemed like they were out of sink offensively.  It would be interesting to see if the tables would turn if the game was played in their house rather then DLK gym 1.

A good defense will do that ... I mean, take a team out of sync, that is!!   ;)

It wasn't that they forget Davis they just tried to man up on him.  Davis was too strong for any VW defender to handle on his own and when their guards did double down they were too late to have any impact.  The defense that Bryson, Merg and Odegaard played was the primary reason VW didn't score from outside.  They had shot fairly well, particularly #32, the night before but couldn't get many open looks last night.

I've been disappointed by the student turnout this season but I have to give a lot of credit to them these past two nights.  They came in droves, they were loud and their antics were hilarious.    The team really fed off of their energy and it was really neat to see.  Congrats 6th man!

I'm hoping for an Illinois Wesleyan/Whitewater final... and the matchup I want to see is Davis vs. Davis... Chris for UWW and Victor for IWU.

U-Dub-Dub is heading back to Salem this week - Pat Miller and his men's basketball team will be in search of a third Division III national championship in school history.

I have developed a blog this weekend that will keep Hawk fans informed all week long on the Hawk's invasion of the Roanoke Valley.

BW-I really think your wife should let you get out of bowling this weekend so you can go out to Salem for the Final Four.  Do you need me to put in a good word for you?  How about give her an offer she can't refuse (watched The Godfather this weekend)?

C Felix Friedt Whitworth Sr. Dusseldorf, Germany

At first glance, I think we all know, or at least the Pointer fans, that Tyler was probably more important than Dan, thus my initial thought was to swap those two.  But, I know d3hoops gives out awards with positions in mind.  So, D3hoops felt four other guards were better than Tyler.  Ironically, they used a guard position for Shane Manor, though the River Falls site has him listed as a forward.

Congrats again to them all, especially Chris Davis and Pat Miller.
