I heard from a reliable source Vaassen is going to try and get a medical red shirt, but some of the interviews with Gard makes it sound like he could be back so I'm not exactly sure but he's currently on cruches.

What happened to Vaassen?

In other injury news, Dylan Wurtz didnt play again. Any news on the extent of his injury? Thats three conference games he has missed. For Oshkosh's sake, hope he returns in the new year.

How about Tyler Tillema? How long is he out? Ritchay stepped up big time as Point struggled with an inferior opponent in Edgewood last night. Ritchay dropped 27 on the Eagles. Hope tue Holiday break gets everyone time to heal.

Not sure on the time Wurtz will be out. My guess is that he will be back when conference play resumes but that is pure conjecture.

bgbacker: I'm glad to see they got the win over Ashford. Any truth to rumors that Zorn Arena may be replaced ?

I did do one on the women's game if you're interested in that.

Because they won?  :-[ ;) :P

Voice can cover the losses in his blog. :D

Seriously, I posted on the womens games because no one else had.

BW - sorry for the lack of stories on the WARHAWK women's games at Hope over the weekend.   Unfortunantly I was dealing with a heavy dose of chemo sickness and didn't have much strength.  Sorry I let everybody down!

The "old barn" will probably be around a bit longer. A new facility is listed in the University's "Master Plan" for the next 20 years, but so far, the only construction is the new Student Center and a new Education building (which has removed all of the parking spaces behind Zorn!). But, hey, they did get a new shot clock! Also, there is a new lighting system which (I'm not making this up) makes the lights go out if there is no motion in a few minutes. I've seen it happen during a practice. If it ever happens during a game, it'll mean the "Motion Offense" is NOT working!

No way, no how have you let me down, Voice, and I doubt anyone else feels that way too.  I was just making a smartass remark to the Greek.  Considering all that you are going through I'm amazed that you are able to blog at all.  But I know how much WARHAWKS athletics means to you so I know you'd only not blog on it if you were physically unable to do so.  I hope you're feeling better today.

Actually I've written a couple of short summaries of the womens games in Hope in that forum.

I can see it now.  Some freshman manager who's job is to stand near a motion sensor and when there is a break in practice do jumping jacks or run in place to keep the lights on.  Then at the end of the year banquet they'll talk about the valuable contribution they've made to the program.

A little surprised to see Stout at #23...I know that they took Whitewater down to the wire and beat a solid Platteville team on the road, but that isn't that far off from what UW-La Crosse has done with virtually the same schedule (outside of the Platteville game) and the Eagles are only getting a couple of votes. Not to say that the Blue Devils haven't exceeded expectations, been excellent to start the season or deserving of some votes. I just want to see maybe a bit more body of work before putting them into the top 25 thats all

I think the Whitewater game turned some heads. And yes, La Crosse's only blemish was to Whitewater as well, but Stout was down just 2 with :48 left in the game. Stout led in the second half from 10:00 to 5:00 to go in the game.

On the other hand, La Crosse led just once in the game, with about 14 minutes left in the first half. From the 12:14 mark in the second half, Whitewater led by 10 or more points.

LaX was previously getting more love in the poll, but they're going to need some more wins to get the attention of the voters.

They'll get their chance to shine... they play #3 North Central on December 29th in Las Vegas.

There's still plenty of time for LX to prove their worth to the voters

Greek Tragedy

Going into the holiday portion of the schedule, WIAC teams are 39-15 out of conference. Thats a 72.2% winning %. Point, Whitewater, Stout and La Crosse are undefeated and Platteville (and Eau Claire) each have two losses. The Pioneers have lost to CCIW powerhouses Augustana and North Central, both on the road and now both ranked.

Does D3hoops do a conference ranking (much like D3football does)?

Greek Tragedy

Conference vs other conferences? Or team rankings within a conference?
