Stout up 22 to 9 over the Blugolds with 6 min to go in the first half. Eau Claire playing sloppy and with little intensity settling for a lot of 3 point shots (2 of 14) and missing any kind of contested inside shot. So far not a very entertaining game to watch online......

I was watching it online for a little while as well and my sentiments exactly....EC just jacking up jumpers and it's pretty boring to watch.

Very boring..... Glad it's halftime. Havent got a chance to check out the Point and RF game, from the post seems like SP is well in control.......

Tillema not playing today for you I noticed..... He tweak it again against St. Thomas?

Stout managed to let an early 2nd half 17 point lead wash away by turnovers, bad shots, and lazy defense. The Blugolds cut the lead to 6 knocking down a couple more 3's. Blue Devils have the edge 40-30 with about 8:30 remaining. I was ready to count out Eau Claire at the start of the half, but now I know it can be anyones game.

Listening to Semling in the pregame, he said that Tillema hasn't been cleared to play yet since the St Thomas game.  He hasn't practiced since the WW game either, which makes it seem that the ankle injury might be a little more serious.  He must have re-injured it somehow in the St Thomas game.

He was limping up the court in the UST game. In the heat of the game, with adrenaline and everything, he probably felt he could still play (and he had, what, 17 in that game?) but he may have retweaked it.

#11 UWSP beats River Falls 82-65.  Point led by as many as 21 in the first half and by 20 at halftime, 49-29.  Point shot 63% in the first half.

RF came out and battled on the boards early in the second half and trimmed it to 15 but that was as close as they'd get.

DeVon Jackson showed something tonight with 16 points in just 23 minutes.  Trevor Hass knocked down 18 with 4 3's and Jordan Giordana had 12 with 3 3's.

Just sort of a ho-hum second half... not nearly as good shooting and kind of sloppy. RF had 20 turnovers and Point had 13.

That doesnt sound good for SP, but the good news is they are still winning and having people step up every game. When Tillema returns I dont know if anyone will beat them.

I won't go as far to say that no one will beat them but I think they will be a better team when Tillema comes back.  Other players are stepping up and playing well which gives Point more capable scorers for the end of the season.

Stout wins 54-46. Ive pretty much said everything to be said about the game in the earlier posts, but here's a quick summary........

EC ends 8 of 35 from deep (23%) and 16 of 61 (26%) overall. Kailen ends with 11 points and Kliest with 10. Only Blugolds in double figures.
The Blue Devils turn it over 21 times to only 13 from EC. Lazy effort and a little concerning. Hortman drops 18 with 9 boards and Ragland has 13 pts, only players in doube figures. Dont know what to expect from Stout next week, but I hope it's better than tonight......

They may lose a random game, but at least the coaching staff has securities if they need to take Tillema out for a rest, foul trouble, or if he is flat out having a bad game. Also, players may have built the confidence to step up if a team trys to shut Tillema down when he returns.

He was wearing a walking boot that he didn't wear down in Texas. No one I talked to after the game had any info on his status or return.

Brian Carroll

Jeff Heiden knocked down 3 treys and a last second deuce in the last 2:07 of the first half to spark UWL past UWP in a ragged battle in Mitchell Hall. Heiden led the way with 23 pts, and was supported by Trent Schmidt's 17 pts in 23 mins of action. As is often the case, the Eagles lived by the 3. As I recall, they made 11 of 23 treys while shooting only 37 % overall. La Crosse outrebounded the Pioneers by a 36-32 margin. UWL hosts Oshkosh on Saturday.
