Anyone see the scathing article in last weeks Journal-Sentinel about UWO athletics/baseball/stadium renovation project?  Could this place be as functionally challenged as it appears?

With regards to the basketball program I have heard that Juckem and Lewis have been everywhere this summer.  I saw both at NY2LA tournament at Homestead last week.

If you've missed it, you can find it under What We're Reading on the D3baseball.com home page.

Why Northwest Florida State Junior College for Darnell Harris.  Elgin Cook, had an All-American freshman redshirt season at NWFS JC last season on the way to a national runner-up 2012/13 National JUCO Tournament.  After one year at Northwest Florida State JC, Cook is heading to Division 1 Oregon. Cook and Harris grew up together in Milwaukee and played together at Milwaukee Hamilton.  Both Harris and Cook played their AAU basketball for the Milwaukee Running Rebels.
Maybe one year in JC then an offer to a D1 school like Cook?

Greek Tragedy

I dont know the talent level at the JUCO level, but an All-American at that level could be significantly better than a Honorable Mention in our league. Best of luck to Harris. At least we dont have to play against him now!

Checking the student directory at UWSP makes it look like Dan Studer and DeVon Jackson aren't enrolled there anymore.  Jackson has had his problems so I can't say that is a huge shocker, still a loss though as he really helped coming off the bench.  And, Studer I think is a pretty big loss for their future as well.  Not many freshman bigs get minutes at Point but he was talented enough to do just that.  I wonder what the problem was there.

All other players from last years team with eligibility left along with the announced freshman/transfer were accounted for in the directory.

Dan never did return to playing after he was sidelined with his (knee?) injury, as far as I can recall.

There's a chance that the injury was severe enough that ht would have prevented him from playing and there's also a chance that he came to Point to play basketball... and once that opportunity left, he preferred to go to a different school.

Personally, I loved Point. I'm glad that's where I ended up and if I had decided to not continue playing, I would have stayed at the school. But people have their own preferences.

And this is all speculation. Perhaps something else is going on.

Do we know where either transferred to?

I looked around the internet a little bit but was unable to obtain that info...maybe someone else can help us out with that.

Looks like Whitewater will need a new assistant coach.  Lou Chapman is now on the staff at Loyola Chicago.

I hate to see Lou leave but wish him the best.  He'll be a head coach someday.

Hopefully whoever replaces him is as good a defensive coach as he was.  I don't think that it's a coincidence that the defensive aspect of our program improved when Lou joined the staff.

I was wondering how Loyola would fit in the Midwestern coaching mix... Porter Moser lost his ENTIRE staff this year:
