BW,

With your vast influence over the WW program, we Pointers fans might appreciate it if you would talk to coach Miller and see if indeed he would be willing to throw up the white flag for this year.  Of course, if anyone else can convince your respective coaches to do the same, it would make trying to win another league title a lot easier. :) ;D

But then in reality, it should be another great season.  Pointers tip 11/16 hosting Lawrence at 7pm.

Honestly, it will be another tough year in the WIAC. The preseason poll favors the Pointers and I agree with them. But I'm going out on a limb here and predict Point won't win the league by more than 8 games! LOL  ???  ;D  >:(

What is being said around the league regarding rule changes and officiating this year ? I've seen articles which indicate the NCAA wants more scoring and has tightened the hand check and charging/blocking rules. In one exhibition game, 70 fouls were called, and games have lasted more than 3 hours. Perhaps the game has become too physical, but I don't care to watch a FT shooting contest either. What do you gentlemen think ? Which teams will benefit from such changes ?

Lawrence in a back to back, open against Wisco Luthernan at Alexander Gymnasivm on 11/15.

Probably widens the Vegas spread 4-5 points.

I dunno... Point's beaten Whitewater in the last 7 matchups, including sweeps the last three years. I say bring on Whitewater and watch out for Platteville or Stout! (I jest, I jest...!)

The players will adjust to the rules and the game should be even faster, favoring quicker, less physical teams.

I agree with Chmarx - the game will become much more dependent on skill guys which should make for better viewing.  Hand checking and use of the forearm on the perimeter is not the way the game was intended, defense is supposed to be played with your feet.

Enforcement of the new rules will be strict for a month or so and then things will revert to what they've always been.

You do realize Whitewater is going to sweep Point this year because of you!  :'( (I keed, keed!)

In past years I would have agreed with you. But I don't know this time.

jimhoops1234--I watched most of the RF-Hamline scrimmage a few days ago and could not tell who the transfer you mentioned was. Nobody except the returning seniors did anything on offense. RF did not look good against a rather poor Hamline team. Perhaps both teams were off, but I could not see anything encouraging from the new players for the Falcons.

Well, the only person listed on RF's roster that is new and came from a JC is Jay Sewer and he's a guard.  My guess is that's the guy jimhoops was talking about.
