Wow. Buena Vista gets their first win by spanking Platteville 98-80.

Yeesh... did Platteville forget how to play defense?

Or... maybe not.

Buena Vista hit 12/14 three pointers. Yikes...  Box Score

In what seems from stats to be the best game for RF so far, they beat Ashford College 79-66. Ben Gresmer had his best line ever:  19 pts. including  4/5 3's, 7/8 f.t., 4 rbds., 2 assts. He had 13 of the first 22  RF pts. Other Falcons:  Berthene, White, Erickson w/13, 11, 10 respectively. RF was 13/21 on 3's (62%) and had 5 total t.o.'s. Erickson, a freshman, had 5 assts. and one t.o. adding to a team 19/5 asst. to t.o. ratio. That's the kind of b.b. I like to watch! Too bad I missed it. :D

I dont believe it to be anything serious. Him sitting out sunday was more precautionary I think to get ready for conference play. Ill try to keep you updated.  8-)

Yeah. My people talked to his people and advised him not to play. They told him my fantasy team really sucks so he should rest up for the conference season because I'm going to need him to have a monster year. Stop wasting his energy on these nonconference opponents!  :P

Reggie Hearn leads the way with 25 points and 7 rebounds. KJ Evans has an off-night offensively, going 3-10 for just 10 points but pulls down 9 rebounds. He's averaging 9 rebounds a game! How does this kid do it? He's 6'3"! Bryson and Young also have 10 points each.

You better tell your people to tell his people that if he wants to have that monster year for Stout (and your fantasy team), he is going to have to step up the intensity a tad.  Alex Oman is an outstanding talent but he does not play hard all the time.  If he continues to "play soft" guys like Hank Kujak (football QB) will take some of his minutes.  This could be a very competitive Stout team even with the loss of our best player (Jarvis Ragland). A guy like Jimmy Whitehead, (former Aquinas star) is going to make Stout decent.  He is going to be one of the better players in this league.  They play hard, they are unselfish, and if Ragland comes back 2nd semester, they could be a force.  It remains to be seen if they can compete with the big guys (SP, WW, and Platteville), but they have been fun to watch so far.

Beloit College had the lead through the first three minutes or so before the WARHAWKS Quardell Young's layup put them ahead 11-9 and gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish.  The WARHAWKS lead reached a first half high of sixteen points, 42-26, when Patrick Souter drained a three-pointer with two seconds remaining.  Led by Reggie Hearn's 7 of 9 from the floor and 17 points the WARHAWKS outshot Beloit 53% to 42%.   The second half was more of the same.  The WARHAWKS started it with a 7-0 run and led by as many as thirty-three points before the game ended 93-62.

The WARHAWKS finished shooting 51% from the floor and had significant advantages in points in the paint, 36-18 and points off of turnovers, 28-8.  Hearn's 25 points were a game high and Young, KJ Evans and Eric Bryson scored in double figures with 10 points apiece.  Evans had a team high 9 rebounds while Steve Eggan had 8 and Hearn 7.  Young's 4 assists were a game high as were Bryson's 4 steals.

Greek, I think Evans positions himself well and, of course, he has a pretty decent vertical for his size.

Will you be coming down for the women's game this weekend, SG?  Or are you staying home to work the men's game?

Very glad to see Evans has elevated his game this year.
