WIAC holds down top 2 spots in the NCAA's second regional rankings.

West - NCAA data sheet
1 UW-Stevens Point 22-1 22-1
2 UW-Whitewater 21-3 21-3
3 St. Thomas 20-3 20-3
4 St. Olaf 18-5 18-5
5 Dubuque 17-3 20-3
6 Whitworth 19-4 19-4
7 Pomona-Pitzer 16-5 16-7
8 Colorado College 14-5 16-6
9 Augsburg 16-7 16-7

I think that these are the last to released to the public.

No, we should get one more next week Wednesday, I think, through games from this Sunday.

Then, the final, unpublished ranking will be for games through next Sunday.

I think that the committee is probably secretly hoping that Point and Whitewater win on Friday night in the conference tournament... because both teams are basically #1 and #2 in the country in terms of Pool C bids. As such, they're probably already penciled in as hosts for the first weekend in the NCAA tournament (unless Point is penciled in as receiving a bye).

Should one of the two of them (or, horror of horrors for the committe, BOTH) get upset and have there be a *possibility* of a third team, that could throw a wrench in the committee's finagling before the final Pool A bids are set.

Not a good year for WIAC overall. We have 2 very strong teams.  I'm surprised. I thought we would have another contender. Of course, there is always the tournament and you never know.

Red Hot Falcon - agree with you, thought Platteville would be better especially after their strong showing in last year's WIAC tourney.  Figuring that they lose only one starter, it should have been a stronger year.  Maybe they get hot at the end like in '13.

Greek Tragedy

I'm a bit disappointed in the "next three" of Stout, Platteville and La Crosse. None really stepped up when needed. Stout looked like an early season surprise after topping Whitewater, but fell off the pace when Whitehead got hurt, then Jenny and even Oman missed a game or two.  Stout lost all the momentum the next game when they went to River Falls and lost. They had a good shot to show they were legit but got absolutely hammered against Platteville after dropping a heartbreaker against Point. Losses at Oshkosh and home to Superior kind of sums up their rollercoaster of a season.  Platteville had their table set but stumbled against Whitewater at home (ok, that's excusable), but then got shocked on the road at Oshkosh and lost a game they needed to win at La Crosse. They lost four in a row and five of six, though two of those losses were to Point. But, if you want to hang with the best, you gotta win one of those Point games, like they did last year.  La Crosse is basically 6 points from a stellar season. They lost back-to-back close games at Stout (by 2) and at Platteville (by 1). Then they lost by 3 at Eau Claire. At least the Eagles beat Whitewater once. Tough year for those three.

I believe Stout has already clinched #5 seed thanks to their win over Whitewater...

Interesting... I don't remember this in the past... Per the WIAC conference tournament page:

*Conference policy indicates there will be no live video streaming of any WIAC Basketball Championship games

I'm guessing because Fox Sports Wisconsin will be there to do it either live or tape delay.

Definitely was in place last year. Also in 2002. :)

Personally I think this is just stupid and makes no sense.  There are followers, like myself, of the WIAC but happen to live in other parts of the country and I am not able to see the high quality basketball that is the WIAC Conference Tournament.

Very disappointing.  Not having live video will not result in more people coming and watching live.  It will result in less people watching d3 basketball at its best in any form.

Coach Juckem has not a nice job of getting Oshkosh back in the playoffs and there seems to be some renewed energy and excitement in Oshkosh and in Kolf.

I agree whole-heartedly. I live in Illinois and have only seen two WIAC games in person, both in Whitewater.

I will actually be in Wisconsin that weekend, so I'll be able to see Friday night's (and hopefully Sunday afternoon's) game in person... but I don't have access to Fox Sports Wisconsin either. So I would either get to not see the games (because of FSW) or not see the games (on FSW). Yay...  ???
