Falcons fall to Division 2 Augustana, SD, 81-69 in an overtime exhibition game in Sioux Falls. Game tied 65 all in regulation. Augustana picked to finish 2nd in NSIC. Falcons looked better than predicted 8th place finish tonight with several good transfers and freshmen. One transfer, Jon Christensen from St. Scholastica, had a dbl/dbl w/17 pts., 10 rbds.

How many Falcon MBB players also play football?  Kittel for sure.

Per the UWW website Murphy is not on the roster.  Too bad.  Could have represented RF like I used to at UWW (intramurals that is).  Two time champ!

Point puts together a second half and knocks off St. Johns 70-57.

Whitewater trailed by at many as 8 in the first 10 minutes of the second half (from what I saw) and had an opportunity to tie, but missed a FT (a key theme). Cardinal Stritch extended their lead and Whitewater wouldn't get closer than 3 the rest of the way out.

Cardinal Stritch wins 71-66.

The WW TV guys said that there were a ton of fouls.... over 50, and that "Whitewater missed 20 free throws."

Not sure if that was hyperbole or if they were keeping count.

I saw CSU miss their share as well.

WW and CSU combined for 59 fouls. They shot a combined 72 free throws... and missed a combined 34.

Whitewater missed 19 FTs and lost by 5.

Cale Zuiker scored 26 points to lead UWL to an upset road win over D2 Winona State Saturday night. The Eagles rallied from double digit deficits to seal the 59-55 victory. The La Crosse Tribune game story confirms that Callahan Skogman left the program to utilize his acting talents, and that Lucas Collom intends to play next year. He has suffered a knee injury.

The officiating was brutal but not the reason we lost.  They gave us plenty of opportunities.  We didn't get it done.  But that crew needs to get better.

You really only need to look at two stats.
Free throws: 19 misses... pathetic
Assists: 4 .... way too much dribbling and one on one play

They had a big front line and that was a problem.

Christensen is a D2 transfer from St Cloud St, not St Scholastica. Should be one of Falcons best players this year. Tough one for the Falcons opening at a very much improved Bethel squad.

Saw that Eau Claire nearly knocked off ranked St. Thomas. What's impressive is that the d3hoops box score lists just FOUR starters for the Blugolds.

Wonder if someone got a red card prior to tipoff.
