WARHAWKS: 82
Hope: 80

After a closely contested second half a pair of free throws by KJ Evans with :07 on clock put the WARHAWKS up 82-78 and clinched the win.  All five starters scored in double figures (Young: 18, Evans: 17, Bryson: 14,  Odegaard: 12 and Egan:12).  Young added 5 assists and 5 steals.  Evans pulled down 6 rebounds.  The team showed modest improvement in free throw shooting going 12-18 and dishing out 9 assists on 32 field goals.  Ron Patten had 7 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.

It was a good road win against a team consistently playing in the post season.

Eau Claire turns a 7-point halftime deficit into a 64-57 win. Interestingly,  Mau plays just 12 minutes and Hjelter only 9 minutes. They are both starters and neither had a foul.

Oshkosh cruised past Edgewood 74-56 after leading by 15 at the break. Sean Dwyer had another solid game off the bench, leading Oshkosh with 17. Max Schabel was the only other Titan in double figures with 12.

Minn.-Duluth tops Superior 80-70. Lindblom had 17, Ketz had 14 while Schradle and Burch had 12 and 10.

Long time reader, first time poster!

This should be an exciting year for WIAC junkies like myself. In my estimation, a couple of early breakout teams (besides WW!!!) would be LaCrosse, River Falls, and Superior. All three faced tough DII challenges and rose to the occasion. All three were in my 2013-2014 post-season stock droppers, but at least now are going to be tough opponents.

Whitewater is going to have to be heavily favored. And this might be a down year for the Pointers, inasmuch as they can be "down." Maybe as disappointing as 3rd?

Here's the one thing I know about the WIAC: it never goes according to Hoyle! It will be interesting to see how these teams wind up looking come January and beyond.

Welcome, great to have you participating.

The WARHAWKS had a fast one pulled on us.  Signing up for the tournament at North Central this weekend we were suppose to play Bluffton and North Central.  North Central however had other ideas and instead we get Bluffton and Trinity International University (Ill).  So it goes.

Eau Claire box score is incorrect, doesn't add to 200 minutes. Both Mau and Helter played more than published.

Point got hosed tonight. Game tied, clock running down, an off the ball foul was called, putting St Olaf on the ft line with :02.7. They made 1/2 and Point's desperation shot bounced off the rim.

Falcons lose at Hamline, 72-64. Game closer than final score. RF ahead by one at half, and again with 5 minutes to go. Goodwin, 18; Christensen 11; Timlin, 9. Falcons start 3 Freshmen, 1 sophomore, a junior. Ten players had double figure minutes.

Jist curious if you saw the play online or heard on the radio etc. Do you think we got hosed because of the actual call or the timing?

Interesting game. Sound like both teams were up double digits but couldn't put the game away.

How do you know it was a bad call with 2.7 seconds left?

I was watching the St. Olaf/Point game, the foul mentioned above was off the ball, a St. Olaf player coming in from the wing towards the ball, it looked like maybe he intended to set a screen rather than receive the ball.  At the time I thought it was a pretty tough call, and a look at video shows the Point defender was impeding the St. Olaf player, but I still think its a pretty tough call in that situation.
