That is some pretty impressive shooting in that barn.

The Kolf Center has horrible backdrops and I think it's probably the most difficult gym to shoot in when you're only doing it once a year on average.

I think the Pointers were especially hot in the second half when the more than half naked men were in the end zone behind their basket.   :D

Platteville (3-3, 10-5) at Superior ( 1-5, 7-8 )
Platteville tries to break they're two-game skid as they travel to Canada. They stumbled at home vs River Falls after leading at the break. You can't fault Stocki or Boston Johnson for the loss, they combined for 52. The Yellowjackets have dropped 3 in a row, including a tough 3-point loss last week to La Crosse. They remain winless at home vs conference opponents after two tries. Superior is 2nd in scoring offense and last in FG% defense,  so if you have any players from Platteville or Superior on your fantasy team, start them with confidence. Superior just might have enough to pull out their first home conference victory tonight.

Oshkosh ( 2-3, 8-6 ) at Stout ( 0-5, 3-11 )
After two nice wins,  Oshkosh were the students of a master class taught by Stevens Point.  The Titans are still last in scoring offense,  but have looked good recently. On the other hand,  Stout has not looked good. They have lost by 25, 17, 19, 3 and 29.  The Blue Devils are last in scoring defense,  so Oshkosh has a chance to put up some points. Someone besides Ragland has to be able to score and playing some defense might help as well. Look for the Titans to leave Menomonie with a win.

Whitewater ( 5-0, 12-2 ) at Eau Claire ( 2-3, 6-8 )
The Warhawks continue to cruise along. After a close win at River Falls,  Whitewater has blown out their last two opponents. A trip to the Land of Zorn beckons and more of the same could be in the cards. The Blugolds look to slow down the #1 scoring offense.  The sledding could be tough with Whitewater also claiming the #1 ranked FG% defense. Eau Claire comes in with confidence after winning their last two conference games, both on the road. Tuhey also have the #2 scorer in Tyson Kalien. The hosts will put up a fight, but Whitewater will leave Eau Claire with a win.

La Crosse ( 2-3, 7-7 ) at Stevens Point ( 5-0, 11-3 )
The Eagles took one in the gut losing at home to Eau Claire, but rebounded with a win in Canada.  It could be a rough night for the visitors as they lay claim to the worst FG% offense. Point has the #1 scoring defense. The hosts also have the #1 FG% offense, but La Crosse can counter with the #2 FG% defense. Stevens Point has four legitimate scorers, so the visitors will have to be on their toes. I don't see La Crosse keeping up with the Pointers.

Unbelievable...............Whitewater survives Eau Claire upset bid due to a horrible decision with 3 second left in the game and EC up by one. After Jack Martinek scores a layup, the Blugolds allow the ball to be rolled into the front court where Quardell Young picks it up and slashes to the basket for a layup.
Unbelievable that you would not pressure the ball at the 3/4 court area and make WW dribble or pass into the front court. But to let them roll the ball 55 feet is UNBELIEVABLE.   ???

Titans 66-60 in OT at Stout.  I am sure Blue Devil Bob has a summary. I call it a "W".  :)

What happened to the Kujack boys from Stout? Reggie hasn't played last 2 games, Hank started last night with only 6 minutes of PT. Injuries?

Reggie broke his hand a week ago and is out. Hank went down last night with a ankle/foot injury in the first half. They took him off on a cart. I heard at halftime that he had a break.

Stout was young and thin before. Now they are younger and thinner.  :P

A-Rock, don't get me started on the non call with 1 second remaining in regulation tie score and Stout going up for a contested lay up when the Blue Devil player was crushed mid air to the ground. No ball contact, all body.

Swallow your whistle, Mr. Bald Guy referee?  That same ref was fist bumping a couple Titan players during a time out in OT. WTH?

I couldn't watch the video, only live stats.  My sources who attended suggest that Oshkosh played very poorly and the game never should have been close.  A win on on off night is still a win, but these folks were not happy with the performance.  :-[ :-[

These same folks were positive about the Point loss last week, and when someone shoots 68%/64% on you, you just have to tip your hat and get back to your shooting drills to increase your percentage.

A-Rock, I can't disagree with this. Osh was up by 11 mid second half and I thought was going to run away with it. They then got a little cold and a lot sloppy.

I was impressed with the Devils effort to come back never giving up. And they had their opportunities to win.

That really sucks for  Hank (and Reggie), and my fantasy team! In all seriousness,  I hope they heal and return to full health.

Bob, did you delete a post or have I been hallucinating this morning?

WARHAWKS: 62
EauClaire: 61

The first half saw three ties and five lead changes as the two teams went toe to toe.  The WARHAWKS largest lead was eight points on three occasions the last being 17-9 on Steve Egan's layup at the eleven minute mark.  The BluGolds rallied at that point and took a lead, 25-22, with four minutes remaining.  The WARHAWKS regained the lead, 26-25, a minute later but the BluGolds took it back with a three pointer on their next possession.  Ron Patten's three pointer at 1:19  the tied the game and his jumper gave the WARHAWKS a 31-29 lead when the half ended.  The WARHAWKS committed just two turnovers to the BluGolds seven which led to a 6-2 advantage in points scored off of them.  Additionally they held at 14-6 scoring advantage in the paint.  But the BluGolds matched that with a 15 to 5 advantage off of the bench and sank six three pointers.  KJ Evans led the WARHAWKS with 10 points.  Both Tyson Kalien and Jack Martinek scored 10 points for the BluGolds.  The WARHAWKS held a single digit lead for alittle over eighteen minutes of the second half.  A three points the old fashioned way from Kalien gave the BluGolds their first lead of the half, 57-55, with a little over a minute remaining.  Quardell Young's basket and free throw regained the lead for the WARHAWKS but Martinek's layup in response put the BluGolds back on top 61-60 with three seconds to play.  Young once again rose to the occassion.  After the BluGolds inexplicabily (sp?) let the ball roll to the half court line without being touched he penetrated the lane to score the winning basket.  Young tallied nine of his team leading 15 points in the final three minutes of the game.

Quardell Young: 15 points, 2 steals
KJ Evans: 13 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals
Steve Egan: 12 points. 7 rebounds, 1 block and steal

WARHAWKS: 9 of 11 from the free throw line in the second half.

Kalein and Martinek both scored 19 points to lead EauClaire and Lewis Mau pulled down 10 rebounds.

I deleted my post that criticized the one ref for a non call at the end of regulation and then fist bumping Osh players during a timeout in OT. That seemed very odd to me. The non call happened with 1 second to play about 20 feet in front of me and about 5 feet away in clear view of this ref. A lot of the crowd wondered why no call like I did. My karma went south in a hurry for some reason after the post. I wish I hadn't erased it.

badgerwarhawk

I don't have a clue about the no call so I'll have to take your word for it.  But the fist bumping thing seems inappropriate to me.

I almost quoted you but got a phone call before I could and when I came back it was no where in sight.

So is Superior completely out of the UW-system loop next year, athletically and academically? Superior University?

No, just athletically. They are still a UW System university.
