Diamond stones picks Maryland they are going to be stacked next year.  Can't complain about badgers but one has to wonder if they could be Kentucky good if guys like looney ellenson and stone would be there.

I heard Stone was having troubles getting into Wisconsin, test-wise. I don't know if it's "easier" to get into Maryland or not. I don't know the standards needed, but that's what I heard.

If you consider playing double digit minutes, Point went 9 deep last year. They lost Tillema, Heuer and Hass.

Ryf 29.8 minutes per game
Ritchay 24.4 mpg
Pelkofer 20.4 mpg
Richard 14.4 mpg
McGann 11.3 mpg
Lutz 11.0 mpg

This year, Point went only 6 deep and loses 4 and only has two that played double digit minutes

Pelkofer 34.5 mpg
McGann 25.8 mpg

Gjertson did average 10.3 minutes a game though he only averaged 1 point a game and attempted 28 shots in 29 games.

In comparison, McGann shot 50 times and Lutz 76 as the low minute guys last year.

So this could truly be a rebuilding year for Point with some reported solid recruits coming and hopefully some of the other guys who have basically done nothing step up (Freeborn, Patterson)

Could this be a perfect time for Semling to bolt? Does he want to "rebuild"? Does he want to rebuild elsewhere?

Semling's name was listed as possible candidates from the Green Bay Press Gazzette article, but Pat Miller's name was not. They may stay in-house with the associate head coach interested or go with a GB guy in St. Norbert coach Gary Grzesk. Other familar names we know are Cardinal Stritch's Drew Diener and Wisconsin associate head coach Greg Gard.

Semling is too young to follow the footsteps of his predecessor Jack Bennett and retire after his 2nd National Championship, IMO.

You weren't going to get Looney with Kaminsky, Dekker and to a lesser extent Hayes already on the roster....  Looney was going to a school he could start at from Day #1, and that wasn't going to be Wisconsin this year.

Just read an article on Brett Wittchow of Laconia, ranked 38th on Mark Millers' top seniors list.  He was just named co-area player of the year with Domask of Waupun..he was also his conference player of the year.  It said in the article that he's deciding between Oshkosh and Stevens Point.  I'd like to get some wings with some size so here's hoping he chooses the good guys.

Take it for what it's worth...but I exchanged some text messages with a family friend of the Wittchow's yesterday, he flat out told me that Brett is going to Point and that Point is getting a steal.  I agree he's a steal, should be a very good player in the WIAC.  I'll hold off excitement until I see confirmation.

Dekker would be dumb to go pro, IMO. Ask Vander Blue how he's doing.
I think Dekker helped his chances of being a 1st Round pick tonight!!!   ;D
Yes he did. Even though I think Dekker is far better than Vander Blue, one good tournament (like Blue)  doesn't mean you'll be an NBAer. Obviously I hope he stays.
I think any chance of that went right out the window after last night's performance....  After back-to-back Final Fours, not sure there is any incentive for Dekker to come back next year, unless his Draft Grade comes back as less than a 1st Round draft pick.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but Dekker wasn't coming back regardless of what he did over the weekend. He would have gained nothing by staying at UW next year. Not when every NBA person who watched him last summer said he was the best player at the invite camps. He was going to be a first round pick......the past few days have just helped his media and fan stature (scouts already knew what he was capable of doing). Not sure what he did the past few days equates to him sliding up a few picks, but it certainly didn't hurt.

Anybody's thoughts on Pat Miller or Bob Semling getting UW-Green Bay job, or at least being in the mix?  Both extremely qualified IMHO + UWGB needs to get back to getting MM players from Wisconsin.  What got them to the NCAA tournament back in the 90's.

I'm guessing mid-major, but maybe RTF is meaning manly-man?  ;)

Article from the GBPG names Miller, Semling, Greg Gard, TJ Otzelberger (long time assistant at Iowa State and Washington) and Gary Grzesk (St Norbert's coach and ex-UWGB player) as candidates.

I wonder if Gard is looking for something better than UWGB.   Timing probably couldn't be better for Semling and Miller.

From perhaps the BEST college basketball coaching guy in the nation:

There have been some names popping up at Wisconsin-Green Bay following Brian Wardle's departure to Bradley. Most people that I've talked to believe that current UWGB associate head coach Brian Barone is the leader here. He has been at has been at Green Bay since 2010, and was also an assistant at Illinois State. His father Tony is the former head coach at Creighton, Texas A&M and the Memphis Grizzlies. Other names that have surfaced here are, Indiana assistant Tim Buckley, Virginia assistant Ron Sanchez, and Nebraska assistant Chris Harriman. More as this one progresses.

Thr Pointers have their championship celebration on Wednesday. I wonder if UWGB has any interest in Semling and if they have contacted him yet. I'm confident the subject will come up on Wednesday.  It would be wonderful if Coach Semling addresses the crowd and informs everyone that he has no interest in the Green Bay opening. I'm just saying!

With the talent point has coming in I'm hoping he stays however if he goes there's some people that I'm sure would be thrilled to take over.  Heard today jake gollon won't be back on staff next year that will have some effect on developing players.  Keeping my fingers crossed that point gets an impact junior college transfer have heard point isn't close to being done and some really solid guys probably won't make team.
