A nice win, IMO, for Point over a good Keene St team. They were receiving votes in the latest poll and were picked 2nd in the usually competitive LEC.

Finishing the pre-conference schedule with a win over Hamilton to finish 7-4 would be nice considering the competition we've played. I think with Whitewater rolling now, Oshkosh showing their legit with a near-upset of #1 Augustana and even River Falls a possible roadblock (not to mention everyone else) it may be tough to finish 10-4 in conference with a 17-8 overall record. That's borderline Pool C territory.

I'd write off the Pool C idea for the WIAC.  No one seems to have a good enough record and I expect the champ to get in and the others to watch.  Didn't say it was right, just how it is.  Have to make room for all those deserving CCIW teams, you know.  :o

Defending champs aren't a shoe-in. Point didn't make it in 05-06 after the back- to-back championships in the first year of the expanded tournament.

SP should have one of the highest SOS's in the at-large field it they don't win the auto-bid. But there's a lot of basketball to be played between now and then before we look at all of that.

Not that prior year results are indicative, but four teams received at-large bids last year with seven or more losses. IWU had eight. And the WIAC has had multiple bids in nine of the last 10 years. WIAC play is bruising, but a Pool C bid isn't out of reach.

Colorado College: 58
WARHAWKS (9-2): 81

The WARHAWKS ran their win streak to six with their ninth win of the year 81-58 over Colorado College.  CC scored the first basket for their only lead of the game.  Jerry Ngobi tied the game with a jumper and the WARHAWKS took a lead they would not surrender for the rest of the game on their next possession when Haki Stampley scored in the lane.  However the lead remained in single digits falling to within a point on several occasions until the four minute mark when Trinson White scored pushing it to eleven 34-23.  Over the final four the lead varied between eight and eleven before the horn sounded with the score 41-33.  Drew Bryson had a career half sinking 5 of 7 shots including a pair of three pointers and free throws for 18 points.  White added 9 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  CC kept their deficit within single digits for the first fiveand half minutes of the second half.   Cole VanSchyndel's layup made the score 54-43 and the lead remained in double digits reaching twenty 74-54 with a little over three minutes remaining and peaking at the final horn.

Bryson: 21 points
White: 21 points, 19 rebounds, 3:0 a/to, 2 steals
Stampley: 11 points
Andre Brown: 4:1 a/to, 3 steals

I just called Just A Game in Wisconsin Dells and apparently Oshkosh destroyed Carroll tonight, by about 17 according to the folks there.  They said Oshkosh looked tough last night and waltzed past the Pioneers tonight.

Elk River senior guard Matt Keller has committed to UW-River Falls.  Excellent get for Berkhof, is a top 50-60 player in Minnesota.

tomt4525--that's good news about Matt Keller, but RF has a ton of guards, none seniors, so unless he's the caliber of Erickson, he may not make an impact. But I hope I'm wrong.

That might be a +k but it might be a -k.  I will ask Sager on the hallowed CCIW board what the proper etiquette is, since he is  omniscient.  ;)
