The WARHAWKS] had better learn to close out the last seven minutes of a game or it will be a long and ugly season.

More later, have to officiate five games today.

Congrats to River Falls on their start. UW Oshkosh will have a major say in what happens down the stretch.

In a very classy move former Bluegold coach Terry Gibbons is apparently on a Twitter rant lambasting current coach Matt Siverling and former AD Kilgallon. I say apparently because a mastery of the English language and the concept of hashtags apparently elude him (Gibbons). #theresnospaces #ishedrunk

Mysteriously the posts have disappeared! I have a couple of the screen-grabs that I took before they mysteriously disappeared! Unfortunately I don't know how to upload them to this site.

Terry Gibbons with quite a few tweets regarding EC Basketball...doesn't every actually mention them by name, but we would call this being passive-aggressive. Google "Terry Gibbons Twitter" or go to his twitter handle @Gibbons285Tg.

Oshkosh and River Falls at the top of the conference...interesting

What was the gist of his rant, they are gone now.

He (Siverling) was the worst assistant he ever had. The worst hire that Kilgallon ever made. Siverling didn't even get the HS job at Menomonie.

WARHAWKS: 70
La Crosse: 72  OT

The first minutes of the game were a back and forth affair with five ties and five lead changes in the first fourteen minutes.  The Eagles largest lead was seven points at about the eight minute mark.  Cole VanSchyndel's three point play with just under six minutes tied the game 21-21.  After the Eagles missed a shot Jerry Ngobi's three pointer gave the WARHAWKS a 24-21 lead and a 11-6 run to finish the half put us up eight 35-27.  The WARHAWKS were able to get the ball into the paint outscoring the Eagles 22-14 and 10-5 on second chances.  Van Schyndel's 10 points and 7 rebounds led the way while Trinson White, Drew Bryson and Andre Brown each added 6.  The second half saw the WARHAWKS lead by double figures for a significant portion leading by a high of thirteen and still by ten 62-52 with just under six and half minutes.  The game turned at this point when the Eagle's hit back to back three pointers.  Over the next few minutes the WARHAWKS went 0-4 from the floor and turned the ball over twice allowing the Eagles to close but still led by five 62-57 when White stretched it to seven with a pair of free throws with less than two minutes to play.  After that the WARHAWKS missed their last three shots and turned the ball over while the Eagles tied the game on Staege's layup with seventeen seconds.  After the two teams traded the lead with baskets to start the overtime the Eagles went ahead on a free throw and held the lead the rest of the way.  The WARHAWKS had a chance to tie with the final shot and were able to penetrate the lane for the shot.  However as had been the problem all night another turnover sealed the deal for the Eagles.

White: 23 points, 18 rebounds, 2 steals  ...  White's 4th double/double in the last five games
Van Schyndel: 17 points, 7 rebounds
Haki Stampley: 12 points, 5 rebounds

Jared Staege: 20 points, 10 rebounds
Devin York: 20 points

Mr. Ypsi

Has this week EVER happened before in the D3hoops.com poll?  NO WIAC team in the Top 25! :o  UWW falls out (but retains 38 points, 3rd most of ORV); UWRF got one #25 vote.  I would have to think this is a low point for the WIAC.

Which probably means someone will get hot and win it all in Salem! :P

Yeah. That might be a first. I remember talking about the NESCAC last year when they all dropped out.
