Congrats to the Eagles. I bet it was a crazy atmosphere, first being up huge and looking like a blowout and then on the edge of your seats as Point storms back and nearly steals it.

UWO's home court advantage will likely have more of a "high school gym" atmosphere on Friday, as the game will be played at Albee Hall due to the WIAC Indoor Track and Field meet being held all weekend at Kolf.

Interesting. Didn't this happen before in the not-too-distant past? I remember Albee Hall being mentioned before.

55-53 - congrats to the Eagles for their first conference title in 51 years; they had to beat the best, the Pointers, last year's D3 champs, to do it. 1,600 fans in the house, a great crowd.
Coach Koelbl has got to be feeling pretty good right now in beating the team he was an assistant coach with....

How did they get the fans there?  Attendance there has been weak.  :-[

Koebl did a great job with no returning starters.  51 years between Indian wins, wow.

Which brings up an interesting question....

Let's say UWO didn't have Albee Hall at its disposal this weekend...  Where would the game by played then?  Obviously the local high school gyms would be out since they don't have 94 foot courts.

Maybe LU would offer their high school gym, Alexander Gym, since they don't need it anymore this year!?!?!  :o

cubs, it is admirable that your concern for the Titan program is so high that you considered alternatives. Did you call President Bursten at LU to get a provisional lease, just in case?   :o

Attendance has been building as the season unfolded.  Someone seems to have told the students that La Crosse has a mens' basketball team.  Also, Point had a good contingent of fans present.

Maybe someone said, "Hey, conference title is on the line! Maybe you should show up!"

That, or Chmarx and B.R. Carroll paid everyone to come.

Per all WIAC discussion - Staege will be co-POTY with White.  LAX won the league and Staege ranks high in many statistical categories.

White's stats off the charts per BW's post, so should be included despite WW not being in the top half of the league
