Point better not be relying on their bench guys this year to compete for wiac title next year.  They need to get a junior college transfer or someone that has experience already and can start.  Bublitz can really play and will be solid four year player but I personally don't see anyone else returning that is more than average payer.  I believe bublitz and goedeke are only two that will be starting.

Again, you have shown you have no clue about Point athletics.  Their MO has always been to develop players in their system.  It has obviously worked.  They have plenty of talent on the roster.  I'd be willing to bet next season surpasses this season's win total, I really don't even think it will be that close.
Shouldn't be too hard!!!   ;) (just kidding!!!)

I also said it wouldn't be close!!!

I'll take Jon Christensen as POY. His stats are slightly better, overall, than Staege's. The only difference between them is that Lax finished first. But, congrats to all who made any of the teams!

I mentioned earlier that the POY is selected from the three highest vote getters in a separate vote.  This year the three players were Staege, White and Christensen.

C'mon, guys. Let's have some positive words for WIAC COY Ken Koelbl of UW-La Crosse. Coach K spent 8 yrs. as an assistant at UWSP, and has completed 13 yrs. at UWL. He has upgraded the La Crosse program from bottom-feeder to competitor, and this season, he took a team picked 7th to the conference title. In addition, he is a fine fellow. Congratulations to Coach Koelbl on a well deserved award.

Here's to Ken, he's our man, let's give him a great big hand !!

Elm hurst shoots 40 FT. Oshkosh shot 6 FT

I believe you actually know something about basketball but even Pat Juckem admitted in the postgame that with his team working outside the perimeter and Elmhurst consciously pushing the ball into the post, the foul differential is going to happen. Plus 12 of those foul shots came in the final minute when, you know, teams foul.

To AR's credit, I didn't see the comment as being a commentary on the refs, persay, so much as a note about a difference in how the teams played. Elmhurst obviously was more aggressive, as they drew more fouls and guy to the line more (and thus the outcome wasn't that surprising).

At least, that's how I took it.

40 to 6 is a high number. Not that they need to be equal. Didn't see the game. Were they aggressive going to the rim and getting the ball in the post, but not as aggressive on defense? Oshkosh beat UWRF, but I will say there were a couple of flops that went against Pearson. Maybe they didn't get those calls. Good season for Oshkosh. WIAC I'm sure will be better next year.

Chippewa Falls senior guard Aaron Knez has committed to UWSP.  Picked Point over UWRF.  Watched him a few times, he's a very good defender...Consistency on the offensive end is something he needs to develop.

Nice!

I saw him play SPASH this past weekend and he was a better defender than anyone else on his team. He also showed pretty good range and led the team in scoring their first seven points (15 for the game against one of the best defensive teams in the state).

I encourage ALL WIACers, even lurkers, to go to the front page and vote for Jon Christensen to play in the All-Star game during the Final Four. Let's support our guy!
