Well, I'm less involved now but from what I can surmise based on voting deadlines set within our system, I'd guess we see the women's preseason poll late this week and the men's early next week.

Well, Fred is the mayor, so maybe he had connections.

QuoteAlso wondering approximately when might the D3hoops preseason 🏀 poll (the one that counts 🙂) actually be released?

Pat's right -- The women's poll should be released midweek and the men's poll first thing next week. Both are in process now.

Pat's right --

Duh!

I'm guessing 2 WIAC schools. Oshkosh and Whitewater, both in the low teens in the poll.

Along with the earlier named recruits for UW-Eau Claire,(Adam Link, Sean Miller, James Sukanen and transfer Josh Weix) they also have incoming freshman Blake Wacholz from Lakeville South(MN).  I know basically nothing about him other than he's a 6 foot PG.

Once a mayor, always the mayor.  ;D
Like the President, he retains the title for the rest of his life.

Preseason Poll is out

Oshkosh tabbed favorite...followed by La Crosse, Whitewater, Eau Claire, River Falls, Stevens Point, Platteville and Stout.

I think the top 6 could be interchangeable.  It's going to be a brutal grind going through the conference season.  This conference season may be the most wide open I've ever seen it.

As a Point fan, I really would be shocked if Point finished 6th in Conference.  I think they are talented enough to make a postseason run and we will see early when they matchup with Christopher Newport.

Wow. That's a bold statement considering we lost nearly half of our scoring and our 2 floor leaders. With that said, I think history has shown we do better as a team instead of relying on just 2 or 3 guys to carry the team. But, I do have faith that we'll be better than last year.

Any word if Bryce Williams (previously from Lancaster Bible) played in the scrimmage?

You hit my reasoning for an improved season on the head.  This is a very deep team that won't have to rely on 2 guys taking all the shots.

Bryce Williams played and started in the scrimmage.  He's going to be an important piece to Point's puzzle.  He was able to get to the rim almost at ease in the scrimmage, his shot was a little off though.  From his past stats, we know he can shoot it so not really worried about that.  Watching the scrimmage, my main takeaway is that everyone has improved.

The freshman were impressive I thought as well.  Spray ended up getting injured, looked like a concussion and possible broken nose from an elbow.  Knez, Ehrke and Koerner all played well.

Surprised they weren't silky smooth, after all they've been practicing hard for 3 months.  :D :D
