All players with remaining eligibility are back for Stevens Point along with all transfers and incoming freshman.  They have a roster of 20 as people have alluded to earlier.

I won't post Stout's roster, I posted the link earlier.  They list 27 players on their roster for the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook

UW-Whitewater

Drew Bryson  6'3"  SR
Cole Van Schyndel  6'6"  SR
Alex LeGault  6'6"  SR
Jerry Ngobi  6'0"  JR
Chris Jones  6'0"  JR
Demetrius Woodley  6'3"  JR
Scotty Tyler  6'8"  JR
Andre Brown  6'1"  SO
Mitch Pfeifer  6'3"  SO
Marquis Turner  6'3"  SO
Alec Mabie  6'7"  SO
Jack Sirek  6'3"  FR
Zach Knobloch  5'10"  FR

This roster surprised me by the low numbers, maybe Whitewater has some injuries where guys are out for the season and they didn't include them or some people were just an oversight for their roster into the Yearbook.  Nate Hensel is not back.  Announced recruits that are not on the roster are David Pulizos, Ryan Clarey, Bobby Brenner, Riley Jensen, Noah Kaminski and Sam Kerr.  That seems like a huge number of freshman to not make it on the roster.  Zach Knobloch is a freshman that had not been announced beforehand.  Iowa Lakes Community College transfers Chris Jones and Woodley should make their way right into the rotation, Jones was a Junior College All American.  If anybody has insight into the notable freshman omissions, I'm all ears.

Nate Hensel transferred to Arizona State.  There was some discussion of his trying to walk on there but I don't know if that worked out or not.  His decision to transfer was educationally related.

BW,

I remember you mentioning that about Hensel, hope everything works out for him.  Do you have any insight into why so many of Whitewater's Freshman recruits weren't included on this roster from the Basketball Yearbook??

Basketball yearbook predictions are highly speculative. In the case of River Falls, Grant Erickson, an honorable mention all-conference player two years in a row, and injured  first half of the year last year,  won't be all conference this year?

tomt,

Just wondering where you are getting the rosters you're posting. UWO's isn't even on their web site yet. Haven't checked other teams.
Also, with regard to Oshkosh, no (soph) Sam Johnson? Any insight on that?
Thanks.

There is a book that comes out every year around this time, The Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook,  coaches from every high school and college team in the state submit their rosters for this book.  Every year I buy the book and I got it yesterday.  The roster from Oshkosh was submitted by someone involved with their team.  I don't have any insight into why Sam Johnson isn't listed on the roster, maybe cubs or somebody else has some inside information as to what is going on there.

No, I don't know.  But actually I was surprised to see a WW roster posted because 1. I know it hasn't been set yet and 2.  Miller generally doesn't post it until much closer to the first game.  This year's roster is not on the website yet.  I don't know anything about who does what with the Basketball Yearbook but I'm certain the information is incomplete.

One thing I can say is that I've been to practice and there are more than 13 athletes practicing.  Plus when I was there I was told that there were 3 or 4 who weren't practicing at that time.  Just off the top of my head I'd say that there are more like 20 athletes trying out for the team this year.  I'm not up on the names yet. There are just too many new faces.

I think we'll be more competitive this year.  We have more size.
