As expected, Point hammers Edgewood 95-43. Point held a 53-18 halftime lead as they nailed 11-16 3s and shot 64.5% in the 1st half.

They cruised in the 2nd half with no player playing more than Bublitz's 22 minutes. MJ Delmore scored a game high 18. Zack Goedeke scored 14 in just 16 minutes and Bublitz added 12 in the warm up game before the big week next week. Augustana and NCC come to town.

Pretty sparse crowd with the students gone, but I hope more show up next week.

Good to see Swampgoon, Swampgoon's parents, Frodotwo and Ms. Lurker at the game.  :P ;D  I don't get back to Quandt too often, so it's always nice to see friends.

There is a very good chance whitewater will go unbeaten on the season if they lose it will have to be quick because they won't lose once they get their stud transfer. More than likely going to be best d3 team of all time no need for d when you have 5 guys who can average 20 on any given night.

Two guys on one team who hit 8/11 on threes in consecutive games? Amazing!  BUT-----The conference games have not started yet. I don't think anyone will go unbeaten.

Exactly

Tyler will be a tough match up for anyone.  He's got height and size.  He can shoot from the outside and is athletic enough to beat you off the dribble.

With 14 games this week to end the nonconference season, the WIAC is an impressive 56-16, according to the standings on d3hoops. That's 77.7%

Who's this stud transfer?

I'm not sure who you mean but Tom4525 posted of a WARHAWKS transfer on 12/12.  Derek Rongstad a Middleton HS graduate walk on at UW-Milwaukee.  Tom indicated he would be eligible midterm.  I haven't had a chance to speak to the staff recently so I don't know if this is the case or not.  I don't know that I would call him a "stud" but if he is coming he would look to be another outside shooter.  I'd expect it to take a while to get him up to date and worked into the rotation though.

If you listen to ShineTime, Rongstad is a top 5 player EVER in the conference and it will be impossible to beat Whitewater once he is eligible.

My take, he's a good player that will help Whitewater.  He's a rotation player, not a player you focus your offense on.

WW does not NEED another "stud". Send him to RF!

Begging for leftover 'scraps' from conference mates is most unseemly! :o :P

Lobby your coaches to recruit better. ;)

You don't recruit players who are enrolled at another school, Chuck. That's against NCAA rules, whether the player is on scholarship or not.

Reread my post.  I wasn't recommending they 'steal' players - just recruit them in the first place.

The player who is under discussion here, Derek Rongstad, was a UW-Milwaukee student up until a few weeks ago. He's a mid-year transfer to UWW.

Greek Tragedy

Wednesday, December 28
Eau Claire vs Gustavus Adolphus at Las Vegas

Thursday, December 29
Eau Claire vs UC Santa Cruz at Las Vegas
Central vs Stout at Wisconsin Dells
Oshkosh at Coe
Northwestern (MN) vs Platteville at St. Norbert
North Central at Stevens Point
Lawrence vs Whitewater at Wisconsin Dells

Friday, December 30
Platteville vs St. Norbert/Finlandia at St. Norbert
Central vs Whitewater at Wisconsin Dells
Lawrence vs Stout at Wisconsin Dells
St. Olaf at River Falls

Saturday, December 31
Carthage at Oshkosh
Coe at La Crosse
Augustana at Stevens Point

Whitewater 9-0...should go 11-0, though Central may cause a little trouble.
River Falls 9-1...shouldn't have any problem with St. Olaf, going to 10-1.
Eau Claire 8-1...10-1 should be obtainable out in Vegas.
Stout 6-2...I'm thinking 8-3, losing to Central and then also beating Silver Lake on the 3rd.
La Crosse 7-3...8-3 with the win over Coe.
Oshkosh 6-3...8-3 as well, with two wins.
Platteville 6-3...A bonus if they can finish 8-3 with a potential matchup with St. Norbert.
Stevens Point 5-3...toughest road in the league to finish 7-3 with NCC and Augie coming to town.

The bottom four teams with 3 losses each need to win out with conference play starting next week. Even if any of those teams finish 10-4 in conference, we're talking 8 total losses, including a WIAC tourney loss, for Pool C purposes.

La Crosse can say they had two bad losses, at Luther and at home to Loras. Those are going to hurt.
Oshkosh has 3 losses, but all on the road to good teams in ranked Wartburg, ranked Benedictine and previously ranked Augustana.
Platteville has 2 bad losses, at Wheaton (IL) and a 2-point loss at Loras. They also lost to Central, who was predicted to win the IIAC, I believe.
Point has one bad loss at St. Olaf, and also losses to ranked CNU and previously ranked St. Thomas. Their schedule may come back to haunt them with the two CCIW teams coming to town.

Pat Miller doesn't even know where UW-M is.  He is laser focused on his new behavior model and has no time for poaching recruiting.  ;)
