Did he have to wear a name tag so his teammates knew who he was?   ;)

Stoutguy, I don't have any animosity towards badgerwarhawk.  I have lost a lot of my competitive spirit vs. UW-W since 1) Titans got to the Stagg Bowl and 2) Pat Miller's new on-court persona.   Actually, I worry about him as living in Candyland substantially increases the risk of Type 2 diabetes.

I'd say tonight proved my point warhawks can't possibly lose given they essentially have a d1 lineup across the board.  Rongstad will be MVP of final 4 and whitewater takes title in blowout fashion they are the rea deal.

I enjoy reading your posts, but I have trouble figuring out when you are giving me some gems or when you are just being sarcastic.  Nothing as good lately as when you were critiquing Ted's hunting skills. I think you had a different handle then and I could be wrong, but I think that was you.  Fill me in on the new Pat Miller.  I don't get the reference to candy.  Years ago, I was really taken to task when I suggested that Pat was a tad out of control at times so I don't want to go there myself.  I'm too old, to take in the bad karma I got for that.   ::) ::)Fred, you figure out these faces out yet?  I did and I am just a dumb old teacher with a Mac just like you :'( :'( :'(

stoutguy--no, did not figure them out. So I'm older, dumber ex-teacher than you! BW tried to help me, but no comprendo.http://www.d3boards.com/Themes/default/images/post/exclamation.gif (This is an exclamation point?)

Stoutguy:

I have no idea what your Ted hunting comments mean. My cabin in Oconto is in some hunting lands, but I don't hunt.

Candyland is what Oshkosh football coach Cerroni called Whitewater a few years back when they hired on of his coordinators, luring him from state school to the other with more money.

As for Pat Miller, I am projecting what I hope for him and the WIAC--we don't need a screaming hyena running the sidelines at the Final 4, as Shinetime has guaranteed will happen.   In light of the fact that he now (practically) coaches a D-1 program, he needs to act like he does.  Maybe the Whitewater alums will get him a private jet so he can recruit transfers from other places besides UW-Milwaukee.

I saw Stout and Lawrence had a good battle last night....any thoughts?

Sorry, AppleRocks, years ago there was a poster that just would not quit ripping Ted Vandellen.  He always said that  he didn't recruit because he was too busy hunting.  For some reason, I thought you were that poster.  My age prevents me from being very accurate about anything.  As for Stout, as I said yesterday, I have only seen them once and don't know enough to even comment but their record and Ed's excitement would indicate that they are clearly better.

That was titan2000. There was speculation, after titan2000 was banned, that AppletonRocks was him or related to him, but that was put to rest...or just forgotten about.

I went back in the archives here and found some of that "hunting and fishing" discussion. I will check but I don't think Coach Juckem is much of an outdoorsman.  ;)

Reminded me to think of Roop, who passed away unexpectedly a few years back.  RIP.
Roop was a huge Beloit fan and also had a good relationship with the Grinnell guys.  I sensed he loved the System from the closet.  :'(

I was and remain a Lawrence fan.  MWC games were very competitive back then, as Ripon, Carroll, Grinnell, SNC and LU battled for that league annually.  It might be more competitive in 2017, we shall see.  Back then, the top MWC teams could play with the top WIAC teams. I hope that could recur.  Would be good for us fans.  There were a lot of regulars back then at MWC games that would always meet at the Wooden Nickel before games or after, and so there are a lot of suspects. My kids were in diapers at the time and I traveled some, so I didn't keep in touch with most of those guys. The fervor of the MWC fans to be treated as an equal to the big bad WIAC was pretty high. Even the Ripon and Lawrence fans agreed on that.  :o

I attended all of the Lawrence vs. Oshkosh games, including Ted's "Super Bowl" and a game in Albee Hall at Oshkosh that was also an epic Lawrence win.

While the WIAC was and will always be a great league, the Titans never seemed to get where I thought they should have, equal to what Point, Whitewater or Platteville achieved.  Ted had great talent that achieved only modest success except for the Dworak years, and eventually ended it with an 0-16 finish in the WIAC.  Seemed impossible, but he did it.  Thank God they hired a quality coach and things are on the uptick. Ironically, a current Titan assistant had a son on the Titan team back then, I think he played in the "Super Bowl" but my memory is also fading a bit.  :-[

Good luck to Stout this year.  I am starting a new biz and its likely won't be around these boards much in 2017. Not much sense in wasting time as Shinetime has declared that Whitewater has already won the national title.  :o

That was a long time ago, I probably met him....back when Roop and a loose group of about 5-10 other lonely guys attended some of the regional MWC and some WIAC games with decent regularity. Other than Roop (RIP), none of them got in my rolodex (so 1990's) so I don't know who they all were and they don't show up at Alex anymore. Several of these guys were from SheVegas, they knew Tharp and DePagter. My boys were toddlers who came to games with me sometimes, so I couldn't always go to the after events at the Nickel or the Roadhouse or the Abbey or Kellys.
