No coach would give the two best players the night off, if you were serious, GT.

RF 92-51 over Stout.

WORLD'S OLDEST FALCON FAN.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

GT--Now that I read your post carefully, I see you were NOT serious.

Stout appears to have given up after their beat down at WW. They made Rf work hard to get the W at RF just a short time ago.

Well, we're down to 3 potential NCAA teams (obviously any one of the conference tourney teams can win), unless Oshkosh wins the conference tourney. They go down to La Crosse, 70-60.

EC 14-6 .700 .561 SoS
Osh 13-8 .619 .596 SoS

A two-game difference in W-L is equivalent to an .030 SoS gap, according to the committee, so these two criteria would actually balance out in favor of UW-Oshkosh at the moment. As it stands, though, UW-Eau Claire owns W-L percentage and UW-Oshkosh owns SoS.

However, there are other primary criteria, not just those two. UWO has swept UWEC head-to-head, so the Titans own that criterion as well. However, UWEC is 3-1 against regionally-ranked opponents (wins over Wash U, Buena Vista, and UW-Whitewater, loss to UW-River Falls) while UWO is 1-4 (win over UWRF, losses to Benedictine, Augustana, UWW, and UWRF, win over UWRF), so UWEC owns that criterion. Against common opponents, UWEC is 7-3 (5-3 versus non-UWO WIAC opponents, plus wins over St. Norbert and Wartburg), while UWO is 5-5 (4-4 against non-UWEC WIAC opponents, plus a loss to Wartburg and a win over St. Norbert), so UWEC owns that criterion.

As noted prior, vRRO is not a factor for these rankings. There are no rankings to base anything on when these teams are ranked. Now it will be involved moving forward.

I am not surprised that UWEC is head despite losing twice to Oshkosh. You can't overcome that winning-percentage for Oshkosh. Eventually, that door gets slammed shut and that far below the "Mendoza Line" (.667) and it isn't probably worth noting anymore. Next week will be interesting though.

And as Pat as noted, the once-ranked, always ranked has been gone now two seasons. First it was only the previous rankings for vRRO, then it switched to once-ranked, always ranked, but a few years ago that was punted. Now it only matters who is ranked in Rankings 2 and 3.

Oshkosh's winning % is horrible, but their SoS is far superior to Whitewater. 556, Augie .518, Benedictine. 511, North Park .525 and IWU .556

1. River Falls 17-2 .895/.604
2. Wash U 17-3 .850/.586
3. Whitewater 17-3 .850/.556
4. Augustana 17-4 .810/.518
5.Eau Claire 14-6 .700/.561
6. Benedictine 18-3 .857/.511
7. North Park 15-5 .750/.525
8. IWU 14-6 .700/.556

If anyone is paying attention, we can scratch Oshkosh off the Pool C list with their loss at HOME TO La Crosse last night.

Eau Claire won last night and North Park lost, which helps the Blugolds. Eau Claire has Platteville this weekend and ends with River Falls and at Whitewater. They have their work cut out for themselves, for sure.

North Park and IWU still each have to play Augustana. I believe the CCIW only has a 4-team conference tourney, while I think the WIAC still has a 6-team tourney, despite having one less team in the conference. So, Eau Claire has the potential to play an extra game there.

Doesn't really change the point you are making, but the loss was actually at home against La Crosse, not at La Crosse.

Yes, just four.

True as well.

WARHAWKS (19-3, 8-3): 56
Stevens Point (11-10, 5-6): 55

Demetrius Woodley's free throw with seven seconds remaining proved the difference in a game that saw a combined seventeen ties and lead changes.

The WARHAWKS scored first and held a lead that never exceeded six points for the first ten and half minutes before the Pointers took their first lead 13-12.  Over the next five and half minutes the two teams would either tie or exchange the lead multiple times until the Pointers went ahead 22-19 and held the lead which reached a high of five points on the next possession.  That lead stood for a little over three minutes before Cole VanSchyndel's three point play with twenty seconds remaining gave the WARHAWKS a 26-24 halftime lead.  Neither team shot well in the half.  The Pointers hit on one extra shot, a three point basket, but the WARHAWKS outscored the Pointers by five points from the free throw line.  Andre Brown's 8 points paced the WARHAWKS while VanSchyndel added 7 points.  After three minutes of play in the second half the Pointers went ahead 30-28 and maintained a lead which reached seven points for the next nine minutes of play.  A layup by Woodley put the WARHAWKS a 46-45 lead.  That reached four points on a three point basket by Derek Rongstad but the Pointers answered with a pair of layups to even things 49-49 with a little less than six and half minutes to play.  After an exchange of the lead the Drew Bryson's layup gave the WARHAWKS the lead 53-52.  Andre Brown's layup expanded the lead to three but Mark Nelson sank a three pointer to even the score 55-55 with just over a minute to play.  After the Pointers called time out Woodley was fouled after successfully stealing the ball and made one of two free throws.  Point's three pointer at the buzzer missed.

Brown: 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists
VanSchyndel: 13 points (7-7 FT), 2 rebounds, 2 blocks
Rongstad: 12 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
Woodley: 6 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals

True as well.

And if UWSP finishes in the top 6, they are just going to be skipped over and whoever is sitting seventh will make the tournament. Just supplying that for anyone who might be wondering. It's been one of those notes I hadn't gotten around to sharing as of yet.

They are the GREATEST TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF DIVISION III! Why would you stop at No. 2!

Personally, I have it...
1. UW-Whitewater
2. UW-Whitewater second string
3. Babson
4. First place team in UW-Whitewater Intramural league
5. UW-Whitewater coaching staff

Sorry Just Bill, but I think your rankings are off a bit....  Don't understand how you don't have Whitewater's Nationally renowned Wheelchair basketball team in your rankings!!!

They seem to be deserving of a Top 5 ranking!!!

You're both forgetting the UWW cheerleading squad! Heck, if they elected to drop their pom-poms and pick up the basketball, they'd make a push for the Top 5 and kick butt from Newport News to Walla Walla!
