They are the GREATEST TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF DIVISION III! Why would you stop at No. 2!

Personally, I have it...
1. UW-Whitewater
2. UW-Whitewater second string
3. Babson
4. First place team in UW-Whitewater Intramural league
5. UW-Whitewater coaching staff
Sorry Just Bill, but I think your rankings are off a bit....  Don't understand how you don't have Whitewater's Nationally renowned Wheelchair basketball team in your rankings!!!

They seem to be deserving of a Top 5 ranking!!!

You're both forgetting the UWW cheerleading squad! Heck, if they elected to drop their pom-poms and pick up the basketball, they'd make a push for the Top 5 and kick butt from Newport News to Walla Walla!

Do the football or women's basketball programs get considered?

According to all that Olympic coverage, handball has a lot of translatable skills; I'm sure the WW handball team could be ranked if they decided to be.

Does Shine Time Now understand why Whitewater is not ranked number 2 in the nation? RF Beats Whitewater 68-63.

So Scotty Tyler scores 16, but only plays 17 minutes (2 PFs). Chris Jones scores 0 points on 0-7 shooting, 14 minutes, 0 fouls.

Someone has some explaining to do!

When Chris Jones was in the game, he looked like he was at the bottom of his game, not the top. All the other players who played his position were effective. Both Jones and Tyler missed the previous game completely because they were sick. That could be the explanation.

Tyler missed three games and was sick enough that he was hospitalized last week.  Unfortunately he was cramping and unable to play more than he did last night.  Jones has also been ill and Mitchell Pfeiffer was too ill to dress. There's been a nasty bug going through both the men and women's teams these past couple of weeks.  I offer none of that as an excuse.  Lots of teams are dealing with illness, injury, etc and that's just the way it goes.  Congrats to the Falcons.  They're a good team and deserved every bit of the credit for securing the conference championship last night.  We gave it our best shot.  They took it and prevailed.  End of story.  If we're lucky we'll get another shot at them.  Hopefully if it happens we'll be healthier.

Whitewater if healthy will make the championship game vs river falls this time warhawks prevail.
GOTTA LOVE ACT 10

badgerwarhawk

WARHAWKS (18-4, 8-4): 63
River Falls (21-2, 11-1): 68

The two teams traded the lead in the early minutes of the first half.  The WARHAWKS went ahead 11-9 when Marquis Turner hit a three pointer five and half minutes in and held the lead for almost six minutes before the Falcons went back on top 19-18 on finished the half with a 15-10 run and a 34-28 lead.  The WARHAWKS shot 35.5% in the half including just 3 of 15 three point attempts.  Derek Rongstad led with 7 points.  Though both teams had seven turnovers the Falcons held an 8-0 scoring advantage off of them.  The WARHAWKS opened the second half with a 14-4 run taking a 42-38 lead after six minutes.  Once again that lead stood for about six minutes.  A pair of free throws by Grant Erickson put the Falcons back in the lead 49-47.  Rongstad's layup would tie the game 52-52 at 6:49 but the Falcons' Garrett Pearson answered with a jumper and they built the lead to six points.  The WARHAWKS would get to within a single possession when Rongstad completed a three point play with 8 seconds remaining but Devin Buckley made both free throws to seal the win for River Falls.

Scotty Tyler: 16 points, 3 steals
Rongstad: 15 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, played 40 minutes
Andre Brown: 12 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists

The WARHAWKS hold a one game lead for second place over Eau Claire and Oshkosh the two teams remaining on our schedule.

By far the most reasonable prediction you've ever made. Our big boy is growing up!

Whitewater with very impressive road win at platteville looks like whitewater vs river falls for national title is a good possibility.  Whitewater is the most talented team top to bottom in the entire country

Pool C Update

1. River Falls 17-2 .895/.604
2. Wash U 17-3 .850/.586
3. Whitewater 17-3 .850/.556
4. Augustana 17-4 .810/.518
5.Eau Claire 14-6 .700/.561
6. Benedictine 18-3 .857/.511
7. North Park 15-5 .750/.525
8. IWU 14-6 .700/.556

River Falls: The Falcons won both games last week, including a win vs regionally ranked Whitewater. Pool C lock if they lose in the conference tourney. Obvious #1 in Wednesday's release. They finish on the road at Eau Claire and at Platteville.

Washington U: The Bears went 1-1, both against regionally ranked conference opponents. Solid #2 next week and guaranteed a Pool C if they don't win the UAA (no conference tourney). Wash U is on the road this week at NYU and Brandeis.

Whitewater: The Warhawks dropped one of two games last week, as mentioned above, to River Falls. They should stay #3. They have two tricky home games this week vs Oshkosh and Eau Claire.

Augustana: The Vikings nearly lost twice last week, topping NCC in OT before falling to the Pioneers of Carroll over the weekend. I'm not certain their loss will drop them behind Eau Claire because of their winning % is still pretty high. I have not looked into other factors like results against regionally ranked opponents, common opponents etc. The Vikings have two huge road games at regionally ranked North Park and at IWU. Their ice is getting thinner.

Eau Claire: The Blugolds got the wins they were supposed to get. Now comes the big week. If you thought Augustana had it rough, Eau Claire hosts River Falls and then travels to Whitewater. They need one, if not, both of these games.

Benedictine: As expected, the Eagles are running away with the NACC. They play one game this week before their conference tourney kicks off. Benedictine should be in good shape for a Pool C despite their poor SoS.

North Park: The Vikings suffered two 3-point losses last week, one in double OT. I don't see how they don't drop out of the rankings. Their poor SoS isn't going to help their Pool C chances either. They travel to Carroll before hosting Augistana this weekend.

IWU: The Titans will move up at least one spot after winning twice last week. They travel to Wheaton on Wednesday and then host NCC on Saturday.

Carthage could move into the rankings going 1-1 vs regionally ranked opponents in North Park and Illinois Wesleyan.

Oshkosh, St. Norbert, Ripon and Chicago all went 1-1 last week too. Maybe we'll see Greenville in there at #8!

Thanks Brian Carroll and Badger Warhawk for the nice congratulations. Falcon players had trouble cutting down the nets perhaps because they are not in practice doing that. Thanks Greek tragedy for the research on pool C because now I can sound like an expert in my coffee group, not something I have much practice in.
