Watched two of Eau Claire's games and they were handled by an unranked team both times. :o   Looking forward to the WIAC tourney more than ever, to the winner go the spoils unless it's not River Falls, then we'll get 2 in.   :D

Should be a great WIAC season finish !

As a WIAC fan, I want as many teams in the tourney as possible. On the other hand, I don't want them to tank in the 1st weekend, which seems to be the case if they aren't named Stevens Point or Whitewater.

Eau Claire is up and down. I thought they were a very good team with wins over St. Nobert and Washington U in the nonconference season and then losing to River Falls by one and beating Whitewater. But, then they get swept by Oshkosh and Point.

Oshkosh is similar. They had a killer schedule losing to Benedictine and Augustana and beating St. Norbert as well, but they've had some stinkers in losses to La Crosse and Stout, and at home to Point. Obviously, I want Point to win and I'm glad they are, but Oshkosh and Eau Claire are supposed to be better than them.

Best case scenario is for Eau Claire and Oshkosh to win out and Eau Claire to lose in the conference tourney Final to Oshkosh. There's your four WIAC teams that get into the NCAAs.

I watched almost all of the River Falls - Whitewater game the other night.  It felt like WW had a strong offense, but not the kind of defense that typically means a long tourney run; whereas RF really seemed solid on defense and good enough on offense.  Neither one looked like a team that would challenge for Salem, but WW really looked like a team that could either make a surprise run or lose the first game.

To be fair, the last week or so, Whitewater's two best players have either not played or played with the flu.

River Falls is anyone's guess. They've basically rolled through the WIAC. Outside of the WIAC, they beat St. Thomas to open the season and then lost to Hope, so no real gauge there since they were both very early. I'm not sure if they'll freeze in the bright lights of the NCAA tourney or not. I mean, the last time they were in the tourney, they lost to Edgewood at home in the 1st round.

Using your scenario, if Oshkosh and Eau Claire win out, that gives Shinetime U a total of 6 losses in the WIAC, which should eliminate them from Pool C contention. So I would argue that would result in only 3 WIAC teams in the tourney, assuming the Gods of the East Coast decide that Eau Claire was still worthy after losing the the unranked Titans 3 times. :o  Been a long time since Terry Gibbons (UW-Oshkosh '83) got the Blugolds deep in the tourney.  :'(

7 losses (includes a tourney game) could still get them in.

Maybe, and Shinetime will suggest they host the first two rounds as well.  ;)

If they did that, I would go even without a WIAC team in the Final Four.

Nice to see the WARHAWKS and River Falls get credit for the competitive game we played this week.  Falls goes from 7th to 4th and the WARHAWKS move up one spot to 17.

Yes, I know both played two games last week.

Well, if you roll through the WIAC. That's probably a good gauge. Especially, in a tough year, where the WIAC teams won most non conf games. It's always tough to win it all, for whoever makes it in NCAA's. In the WW game RF had 6 players with 8 points or more. Seems to have a number of offensive weapons they could go to. If WW can make a run, I'm guessing RF can and another WIAC team. Not sure if we will get 3, but certainly one of the toughest conferences out there!

I'm being very serious whitewater if even close to healthy will make a final 4 run that team is just so talented.

Careful Shinetime--NCAA might cancel the D3 tourney to save some money if the result is so inevitable.
