Pat Miller back in hyena mode.  ;)  Might advise UWW TV to keep the camera off the bench.
Announcer: "It's really been a battle between Pat Miller and the referees tonight"  ;D

That explains the two bench warnings that were given to the Titans' staff.    ;)

Direct announcer quote above, mid-second half with U Dub Dub in the lead. Officials were a non-factor last night. And Miller seemed so calm all season..... ;)

Oshkosh (15-9, 8-5): 67
WARHAWKS (19-5, 8-5): 63

Breaking a streak of sixteen consecutive losses dating back to 2/18/2009 the Titans outscored the WARHAWKS 16-10 in the game's final four minutes for the victory.

The WARHAWKS jumped out to an early lead scoring the first six points of the game and maintained a single digit lead for the entire first half.  The lead reached its high of eight points on two occasions in the first nine minutes of the half but generally remained one or two possessions and stood at five 31-26 when the half ended.  Neither team shot that well with the WARHAWKS scoring at a 35.7% clip and the Titans 37.9%.  The WARHAWKS opened the second half with a 10-4 run to open the largest lead of the game at eleven points 41-40 but the Titans answered with a 14-3 streak of their own over the next six minutes or so  tying the game 44-44.  Over the next four minutes the two teams exchanged the lead multiple times until Charlie Noon sank a three pointer giving the Titans a lead, 54-53, they would hold until a pair of free throws by Chris Jones put the WARHAWKS back on top 57-56 with a minute and half remaining.  The two teams would tie again at 58-58 with just over a minute to play.  After that the Titans scored twice in the paint and hit 5 of 6 free throw attempts to preserve the win.

Chris Jones: 23 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, block, steal
Scotty Tyler: 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, steal
Demetrius Woodley: 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, block, steal
Derek Rongstad: 6 points, 10 rebounds, assist

Regardless of what the announcer said the fact remains that the Titan staff were issued two separate warnings for bench behavior while the WARHAWKS bench wasn't.   And if you think Juckem is any calmer than Miller than you need to stop at Wal Mart and buy yourself a clue.   :-*

BadgerWarhawk, defending Miller by attacking Juckem.  That is rich.  :D  I suspect they'll meet again in the WIAC tourney.  I know a cage company. they would install on both benches if the league would allow it.  ;)

I will now extract myself from your hypodermis. I am heading South so I won't be able to go the first round of the WIAC tourney, good luck.

Kind of assuming the bench warnings for the Titan's bench were because of the same behavior Miller was showing, aren't we? Bench warnings can be for all kinds of different things and if they got two (though, second usually is an automatic tech) it might mean they were for two very different things, one of the warnings was verbal and not an actual book warning, or they didn't get the first warning (I wasn't watching, trying to figure it out). But to assume because Miller was having a "battle" with the refs that the battle wasn't that bad because he didn't get warned compared to the Titans bench seems like comparing apples and oranges.

Greek Tragedy

2nd Regional Rankings

1. River Falls
2. Washington U
3. Whitewater
4. Eau Claire
5. Augustana
6. Illinois Wesleyan
7.Benedictine
8. Carthage

1.  River Falls loses to Eau Claire and travels to Platteville this weekend. A Pool C bid is wrapped up, so it doesn't really matter where they finish in the rankings...well, not talking about host sites just yet.

2. Washington U travels to NYU and Brandeis with a 1-game lead on Rochester in the UAA. Another Pool C lock if they don't win the regular season conference title.

3. Whitewater shocked at home by Oshkosh. They host Eau Claire Saturday. Even with a loss and another loss in the conference tourney, they should be on the right side of the fence. 2-1 in the tourney would be best, 1-1should be ok and 0-1 will make em sweat.

4. Eau Claire got a huge win at home vs River Falls, now another big one at Whitewater. If they win this weekend, they should make the NCAAs.

5. Augustana had their bye on Wednesday and has two huge games to finish off the regular season. They travel to previously regionally ranked North Park this weekend and then have IWU on Tuesday. Suddenly their Pool C hopes are on the line.

6. IWU fell to Wheaton on Wednesday and things are starting to get nervy for them. IWU has a tricky game vs North Central before finishing with Augustana.

7. Benedictine keeps rolling and crushed Edgewood. Next up is Lakeland. Their record is good but their SoS stinks. Nervous nights but should get in as a Pool C.

8. Carthage avoid catastrophe and won in OT over NCC. They have Millikin before hosting a tricky Wheaton team next week

If Benedictine's SOS stays below .500 they won't be in the tournament. And if you have teams ahead of them that are already on the bubble, that makes Benedictine in even more danger.

And I think the CCIW is going to be lucky to see an at-large bid as it stands now.

Why is it such a shock that Oshkosh beat Whitewater, or for that matter, Eau Claire TWICE and River Falls once?   I am beginning to think the transitive theory of being ranked for beating the highest ranked teams only matters for certain teams and not others.  I know some of the losses aren't that great but they might get a bye in the WIAC tourney.  But every win is somehow a SHOCKER !

I think these are all good teams, so that is not my beef...just seems like the respect level is sort of low for the Titans.  Seemed that way in 2016 before they won the tourney and went to the NCAA's.

I have my bullet proof vest on,  let me have it !!

I thought they had the best chance because they were the least likely to lose before the conference championship game.

Yeah.. trying to cram in a log and left that part out. It is good to keep that stuff in there so people do assume. Good correction to be sure.
