UWO wins 75-61.

UWW cut the 21 point lead down to 10 a couple of times but couldn't get closer.

Meanwhile, River Falls beats LaCrosse and will host the Titans Saturday.

What's cool is the way whitewater dominated stout wasn't even a battle.  Oshkosh will have to play their best game to even have a remote chance.  My guess is whitewater got a little bored and took a few games off knowing their far and away most talented team in the conference and will now step it up.

An Oshkosh win might mean 4 WIAC's in the tournament.

Titans buried the Warhawks early 24-7.  Defense was stifling, Hawks did a nice job on the press for awhile to get within 10 or 11, but the gap was too large.

Well Oshkosh played best game they'll ever play and whitewater with 7 d1 level caliber players looked like a high school team.

RF played their best overall game in the win over Lax. They did not shoot especially well, but their effort was apparent. They persevered. Lax was tuff! Both teams played very competitive defense. Herink fouled out with 4 minutes to go and it did not make any difference. That's not an insult to Herink, but a compliment to the depth of RF.

Coplin, a freshman off the bench, was a major spark with his willingness to go to the floor, get floor burns, and generally show his determination.

Oshkosh will be tuff to beat.

Just Bill:  good reminder but I'm hoping that was a one-and-done. The player who did that felt terrible for years and even brought it up when he was put into the Hall of Fame.

I can't help but disagree with some of your observations.  I think it's hard to say any team ever plays their best overall game when their best player was almost non-existent.

I understand La Crosse had nothing to lose, and that makes them a dangerous team to play...with that said, if RF played well, they wouldn't have had much trouble with them.

Coplin did have some great hustle plays but the catalyst of RF being able to pull this win out, was undoubtedly Brennan Witt in my eyes.  With Herink fouling out, Witt was the one who stepped up and was extremely clutch the last 4 minutes of the game, where the lead went from 2 to 12 or whatever the final score ended up.

tomt4525--The Lax D was very good, and responsible for limiting Herink's looks.Nontheless, every other RF participant stepped up his game. I have not seen a game this season when only one RF player had a sub par performance. Usually it's two or more.
I am not alone among RF fans who thought RF played its best game. Several ex coaches in my coffee group agreed on that point this morning.

I did not say Coplin was THE major spark, only that he was A major spark. I wanted to credit him for a contribution which otherwise he would not get. I agree that Witt was "extremely clutch." He had the best game of his career. Up to this point, I have not been sure he would replace Pearson next year. Now I'm sure he will. If there is a sixth man award in the WIAC, he should get it.

The only team RF has had little trouble with was Stout on their court. They gave us t rouble most of the game at RF. There are usually no easy conference games in this league.
