This is the fourth or fifth time I've watched the Warhawks this season. While they aren't a tenth as talented as ShineTime's absurd comments make them out to be (and I'm fairly convinced that ShineTime's putting everybody on with his "greatest D3 team of all time" act), the Warhawks are an outfit with a tremendous amount of ability. But every time I've watched UWW (and tonight is no exception) I come away thinking that the whole is less than the sum of its parts.

I obviously was being a little sarcastic with the best team of all time or going unbeaten but truly am shocked by their underwhelming performance in a few games this year.  I think there's a lot of talent there but as was stated earlier some guys seem to play for themselves.  It's really too bad Oshkosh lost I thought perhaps they would make a run at elite 8.

That was a heck of a finish. If I'm UWW, I'm feeling more relief than elation, because when you look at those two teams you wonder how the heck the Warhawks had to come back to win in the final minute after trailing for most of the game.

Great performances by Sprenger and Rongstad in this one. They were trading baskets like Sly Stallone and Carl Weathers trading blows in a Rocky movie.

Of course, if UWW goes on a nice run from here in the tourney, I doubt that many will remember that the Warhawks were almost upset on their home floor by a distinctly less talented team in the opening round.

Thanks?

Great game tonight.  Heartbreaking finish, but I think the Warhawks earned every point in their comeback.  I wouldn't be surprised to see another deep Whitewater run as their talent is obviously tremendous.

Wow, Herink gets fouled with no time on the clock (1 second?) and hits both free throws to tie it...71 going into OT

Wow. Herink hits two free throws with no time left on the clock -- in fact, the backboard light was on while he was shooting -- to send Bethel @ UWRF into overtime.

Assume FT lane was empty then as well?

Yes, it was. Herink was the only player on the floor.

All tied up again in OT with 13 seconds left, Bethel ball.

Bethel with the ball and a four point lead with under a minute remaining....  River Falls gets back-to-back steals/layups to tie the game 80-80 with 0:19 remaining in OT.  Appears Bethel with hold for the last shot and a chance to win it on the road.

Heading to double OT!!!!

All three contests involving WIAC teams have been total nailbiters tonight.
