WARHAWKS: 78
Cal Tech: 61

Five ties and ten lead changes highlighted the first fourteen minutes of the game until Mitch Pfeiffer broke a 22-22 tie with a three pointer giving the WARHAWKS a lead that would never surrender and one that grew to ten, 34-24, by the half.  Pfeiffer led all scorers with 13 while Derek Rongstad chipped in with 9 and Dalton Menke 8 to pace the WARHAWKS who outscored Cal Tech 20-8 in the paint.  The WARHAWKS lead never dropped below double digits and grew into the twenties after eight minutes of the second half.  The lead reached a high of 28, 74-46 before Cal Tech whittled it down to the final against backups over the final five minutes.  The WARHAWKS shot 50% from the floor including 43% from beyond the arc and hit 15 of 18 free throws.

Pfeiffer: 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals
Rongstad: 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
Menke: 13 points

The WARHAWKS face Redlands, who have scored in excess of 100 points twice this season, today.

Yeah, if he gets ANY UWW minutes, I suspect Ron Rose would be rather pissed! ::)

BW has already posted that Knoblauch transferred to IWU, and that Jones is in a "complicated" situation and may not play at all. Don't know about Tyler.

Falcons beat Carleton 72-69 after trailing by 5 at half and by 11 early in the second half. Carleton led by Grow with 29. Seifert, Herink, Witt led Falcons w/ 16, 12, 12 respectively. These totals are approximate. Carleton started  2 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 1 junior (Grow). They will be tuff, both this year and in the future.

Carleton is very tough, but they started a senior (Grow), two juniors (Farmer and Johnson), and two sophomores (Hanson and Bensen).  Stritzel is the only freshman that played.

Right, bball 122. Our program had it wrong, listing the players as I listed them above. Stritzel is listed fy, first year? Is that a red ****/grey shirt guy who's really a second year player?

Thanks, it was yummy! I didn't know you "cared" about the fantasy leagues!

Anyway, the WIAC goes an impressive 8-1 on Friday and Saturday with the big one being Platteville over Silver Lake Oshkosh over Augustana in double OT (the Titans really should've wrapped it up in regulation but they couldn't hit FTs or play defense in the last couple of minutes). Only Eau Claire's loss to a good ranked Wartburg team prevented a clean sweep. Figures, never trust a Blugold!  :P ::) ;D :D

WARHAWKS: 69
Redlands: 60

The WARHAWKS were cold from the field shooting only 31% but hit on 11 three pointers and went 20-22 from the free throw line to go 2-0 on the California trip.  Redlands jump in front with the first couple of baskets but Mitchell Pfeiffer's three pointer and a layup from David Sachs gave the WARHAWKS a 5-4 lead.  After Redlands regained the lead on the next possession Derek Rongstad's three pointer put the WARHAWKS in the lead for the remainder of the game.  The lead grew to eleven points on a couple of occassions including 36-25 on Dalton Menke's three pointer with a minute and half to play.  Redlands closed out the half with a basket creating a 36-27 halftime score.  Sach's 11 points and 5 assists led the way.  Menke went 3-4 from beyond the arc for 9 and pulled down 7 rebounds.  With a couple of exceptions the WARHAWKS held a double digit lead for the first seventeen and half minutes of the first half when Redlands cut it to a low of five points with under a minute of play.  Sachs and Marquis Turner sank 8 free throws in the final minute and half to preserve the win.

Sachs: 28 points (13-13 FT), 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals
Menke: 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals
Rongstad: 11 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists

OK, this Blugold takes back his Scooby snack!  ;)

I follow along on the fantasy league, but would never participate. I always got my behind handed to me in an NBA league - finished in the cellar for about 10 straight years. (Of course, no money exchanged hands, but for mine. Ha.) I'd get creamed in a D3 league...
