Point moves to 3-0 in the WIAC holding off La Crosse 66-64. The ranked teams in Whitewater, River Falls and Oshkosh held serve and won.

RF , trailing 47-35 at half, won 91-84 over Pville. Duax led all scorers with 29.

Falcons were led by Herink, Buckley, Heidecker, Seifert w/ 24, 21, 15, 14 respectively. P. played an outstanding first half, out shooting RF 59% to 39%. Free throws made the difference:  RF made more than P. shot. Herink made 12/13, the team 36/42. P. made 15/24. The last 3-4 minutes were not entertaining with P. in desperation mode, pressing and fouling.
P. is a very good team and will win a lot of games. They have one of the best freshmen in the league in Quentin Shields who came off the bench to score 11.

This has really nothing to do with The BeltTM. No weasels needed, Greg.

It was just a commentary on the profession in general. ;)

In fact, Herink, 12/13, and Buckley, 6/6, made more f.t. than P. shot. Amazing! And the total fouls were 29 on P., 24 on RF.

Wait a minute--18 is not more than 24!  Herink and Buckley made more f.t. than P. made (15). I was confused again--gotta get to bed.

Nice win for Oshkosh.  Held Herick to 7 points.  Solid defensive effort.

Osh 67, RF 58. Shooting, not good for either team, the difference:  RF 32%, Osh 37%. Osh 10/27 on threes, RF 3/15. Boots 4/9 on 3/s, hit three 3/s late in the second half. He had 17, Witt 11 for the Falcons.

Well, who would have thought that Point would be the lone undefeated 1st place team 4 games in? I'm absolutely shocked but cautiously optimistic.

Whitewater this week, so we'll see where Point is at Wednesday night. Point beat River Falls and beat Stout and Eau Claire by single digits. Whitewater topped the latter two by double digits, but lost at home to River Falls (though it was by only 1 point). A trip to Southeast Wisconsin is always daunting, so if I assume they'll get blown out (like I did to the trip to River Falls), maybe, just maybe, I'll see another Point upset come 9 pm Wednesday. For the record, I don't listen to games on the radio, too stressful. It was stressful enough watching the last 5 minutes of Wednesday's game online.
