I mean the funniest part is the idea that lack of information or knowledge is a valid reason to not discuss a topic on a message board. Are you familiar with sports talk radio? Ain't nobody on there with a clue about anything.

And since almost everyone here is using an alias, you never know who might and who might not have valid information. That's what makes the discussion and speculation fun. It's all for entertainment purposes. No one here is making policy (or maybe they are!).

I hear ya. Point taken. I said my piece and the rest of you said yours.

On a side note, I guess we were able to get the message board rolling on this Monday morning!

...so, about that Point investigation...  ;D

AppletonRocks

Everytime I brought it up—once or twice, I got flak. So I enjoyed the dialogue above.

As a matter of emphasis, I don't like Point and if there is this long a process, there is little doubt they broke the rules. Hell, they self-suspended Semling last year.  Don't know if he got paid during that time or if they made him campus dog catcher in the interim.

Whose lawyers are holding this up and if so, who is paying their bills?  Hope it's not the taxpayers of Wisconsin.

I can't make it to OshVegas Wednesday but I expect SP pristine WIAC record to take a hit.

So Stevens Point garnered 45 points just missing out on the Top 25 to finish at 26. #25 Marietta has 54 pts. Platteville is right behind Point at #27 with 31 pts.

Whitewater dropped from #2 to #8. Oshkosh tumbled 13 spots from #6 to 19 and River Falls fell from #13 to #20.

UWSP Men's Basketball Named NABC National Team of the Week

http://athletics.uwsp.edu/news/2018/1/23/uwsp-mens-basketball-named-nabc-national-team-of-the-week.aspx

It'll be interesting to see how long they can keep the unblemished WIAC record/remain in 1st place in the WIAC conference race. Have to think they will come back to the field eventually.

Shooting only 31% on threes so far this season, RF was 14/22 beyond the arc for 64% in their 77-63 win in Eau Claire. In addition, the Falcons had only 4 turnovers. But it was not easy as EC shot 48% overall, and had only 6 t.o.
Buckley, evidently sick, did not play for RF. Matt Keller was 6/6 on threes and finished with 20.  Herink had 13, Seifert 12, Heidecker 10.
Diekelman had 20 for EC.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

Point gets hammered on the road at Kolf vs Oshkosh. At least I can sleep well tonight knowing that AppletonRocks, who apparently dislikes Stevens Point for some reason, will also sleep well tonight.

As  Coach Bennett used to say, you aren't as good as you feel you are when you win and you aren't as bad as you feel when you are when you lose.

Stevens Point has spent a lot of time feeling good about themselves... sometimes some humble pie is just what a team needs to get some perspective.  Oshkosh was coming off of two straight losses, but they made the plays they needed to at the right time and rode the momentum to victory. UWSP shot (and missed) just two free throws all game. That's a tough way to go down, but even without that, they had a lead at the half and with under 8 minutes to go. Oshkosh finished with a 23-6 run to run away to the final margin.

Going to bed now.  I don't like cheaters, if you need any clarification on my prior declaration.  Note Bonds and Clemens left out of the MLB HOF again as well.

Our defense was not good and compounded by the fact they shot well.  We let the Pioneers get to the basket too easily and too often.  You have to give them credit though.  Every time we did something that even remotely resembled a rally they put their feet down firmer on our throats.  They outplayed us convincingly.

I'm feeling like we have some good teams in the league but none that are really all that.
