Thanks for the correction. I actually had that in my original post, but my computer froze up so I had to retype everything again and was in hurry...

Platteville 11-2 v River Falls
Stevens Point 11-2 at Eau Claire

Oshkosh 8-5 at Stout
River Falls 7-6 at Platteville
Whitewater 6-7 v La Crosse
La Crosse 4-9 at Whitewater
Eau Claire 3-10 v Stevens Point

Stout 2-11 Oshkosh

If Point and Platteville tie, Platteville wins tie breaker by going 2-0 vs Oshkosh
If Oshkosh and River Falls tie, Oshkosh wins the tie breaker by sweeping River Falls
If River Falls and Whitewater tie, River Falls wins the tie breaker by sweeping Whitewater
If La Crosse and Eau Claire tie, Eau Claire wins the tie breaker by beating Point on the last day.

I think...

So based on this...

Platteville 1 or 2
Stevens Point 1or 2
Oshkosh 3
River Falls 4
Whitewater 5
La Crosse 6 or out
Eau Claire 6 or out

Sound right?

Point blows it. Loses 55-54. Down 2 with :48 left, Fredrickson hits a 3 to go up 54-53. Mark Nelson gets fouled with 18 seconds left. At the line to seal it and he misses the front end of the one and one. SPASH product, Diekelman hits a layup with 7 seconds to go to win it. Very disappointing after that Oshkosh win. This, their 8th loss, may just knock them out of Pool C consideration, especially if they don't win their semi-final game.

I don't get Semling's late game decision making whatsoever.  EC has the ball down 1 with 13 seconds left, Point has 4 fouls to give at that time.  Instead of using your fouls to dwindle the clock down and take a lot of options away from EC, you hinge your conference title and possibly NCAA tournament hopes on playing straight up and having Diekelman drive to the hoop without any help given.

Pville 81-69 over RF. Falcons 0/15 on threes first half while shooting 8% and trailing by 21. Got 31 down before making a move, but obviously too late.

One week ago Platteville won at Eau Claire by 37. The Pioneers are easily the class of the conference.  EC was fighting for a place at the WIAC tournament table but Point really laid an egg after a really good outing against a real good Oshkosh team 3 days earlier. I think Point misses out on the NCAA's if there are the usual number of conference tournament upsets. I realize Oshkosh got in with 10 losses last year but I wouldn't count on that happening for the Pointers with 9 losses this year.

Congratulations to P-ville on becoming the first WIAC team to go from last place to first place in one year.  20th championship in Platteville history.  I'm assuming that Platteville will get a bid to the NCAA's regardless of what happens  in the conference tournament.  Can anyone else get in without winning the WIAC tournament?

Congrats. Quite the turnaround. I think Oshkosh is in and Point is on the fence, but may need a semi-final win to secure a Pool C spot.

Last week's Regional Rankings.

1. Wash U - WON vs CWR, WON v CMU
2. Platteville - WON vs Whitewater, WON v #8 River Falls
3. Augustana - WON vs NPU
4. Oshkosh - LOST at #5 Stevens Point, WON at Stout
5. Stevens Point - WON vs #4 Oshkosh, LOST at Eau Claire
6. IWU - WON at Carroll, WON at Millikin
7. Wheaton - WON vs Carthage, LOST vs NCC
8. River Falls - WON vs Eau Claire, LOST at Platteville

The top four should stay the same. Point went 1-1, while IWU went 2-0. But Point may stay ahead with that win over regionally ranked Oshkosh. That will probably annoy the Titan faithful (the IWU variety) since the Pointers have 3 more losses. River Falls could've jumped Wheaton had they beaten Platteville, but that obviously didn't happen. It's possible that the same 8 could stay in the same spots Wednesday. NCC beat Wheaton, but lost to Carroll. Whitewater, possibly ranked under the top 8 lost both times last week. They've now lost 4 in a row.

I think Wash U clinched the UAA and AQ for that conference. Platteville should be a lock for a Pool C. Augustana should be safe with a win over Elmhurst this week. Oshkosh has slightly better numbers than IWU, so they should be on the right side of the Pool C fence. Point could've clinched a Pool C bid with a win over Eau Claire and probably will have to win their semi-final game (possibly against Oshkosh) to secure a bid. IWU takes on NCC and probably needs that win and a semi-final win to get a shot at a Pool C. Wheaton and River Falls are long shots.

Didn't see it mentioned, so mentioning it... Eau Claire will be shopping for two new coaches this offseason. Both coaches have announced they have resigned/retired.

Stout???

La Crosse has said they are opening up a national search after the season so I'd have to assume that Coach Dernbach will be a candidate at both Stout and La Crosse.
