Was at the UWSP vs NCC game and I had never seen the pointers in person, very impressed with them. So fundamentally sound on both ends of the court, cliche as it sounds they made NCC work on every possession. Brett Tauber would be my MVP from yesterdays game, as he did a great job of getting Sorenson out of his comfort zone. He would front or 3/4 guard him and there was almost always great help side from his fellow Pointers. Tauber also was 5-6 from the field for 14 points. UWSP has a solid team, they will be a tough out going forward.

Thanks for the kind words, Smitty! Point has definitely improved throughout the season. Are you going tonight?

If Johns was in it I would for sure be there. Now that it is Bethany Lutheran, I am afraid it might be an easy win for UWSP as Bethany Lutheran will be in for a nightmare on offense against the Pointers D as well as fighting a hangover after such a big and emotional win yesterday. A la UWRF against Wartburg last year after a OT win over Bethel. I will probably be watching and listening to Pat, with the Ole-Plattville game on as well! I always forget how far St Johns is from the cities too, all of 1 hour and half.

Well, scratch that -- they can't seem to figure out how to hook audio into their video stream.

Oshkosh at Wittenberg looks like a compelling matchup.  I saw the D3Hoops analysis pre-tournament suggested the Titans couldn't beat Marietta.  So now what?

Good video and play by play from Wittenberg.

Oshkosh had a 17 point lead... but Witt came back to tie it at 56

Oshkosh wins 68-60

Point is up 44-18 at the half. I was watching the end of the Witt/Oshkosh game and it seemed like Bethany Lutheran was sitting on 18 for awhile, or at least near 18...

Platteville wins 74-68 led most of the game but couldn't put them away and they made their free throws in the end. Platteville, SP, Nebraska Wesleyan and a west coast team that is still playing will play for the final 4 next weekend.  Could it be played in Wisconsin?  My guess is the NCAA will fly the west coast team so who of the remaining 3 will host the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds?

Almost certainly UW-Platteville the host.

I would be shocked if it wasn't Platteville.

Looks like Point will get the much anticipated rematch with Whitman. Hopefully they can keep it close this time.

UWSP is a completely different team then the one who played Whitman earlier in the season in Vegas.  I looked at the box score the other day and the rotation was different, O'Heron hadn't started playing like an All-Conference player yet and their defense was still a little bit of a work in progress at that point.  I worry some that Point has always seemed to not play well at Platteville, hopefully the familiarity and a much better crowd than Whitman will help out.

I believe the Pointer Hoops Radio show is tonight, will be interesting to hear what Semling has to say along with any tidbits on recruiting that is mentioned.

Not to mention just the confidence factor as well. When UWSP played Whitman in Vegas that was their 3rd ranked opponent in a row, and they had lost the previous 2 vs Augustana and Wartburg. I doubt many guys truly believed they could actually win that game. I am willing to bet that now most of those guys truly believe they have a solid shot at knocking them off if they play well. 22 turnovers again isn't going to do it, but like TomT said, it is a much different team right now.
