Well, good luck to all the WIAC teams tonight.

Same from this dude.  It's all about the league now.

I was in Walla Walla last weekend and saw Whitman play both games. While they are extremely explosive on offense and aggressive on defense, I personally think they are a very beatable team. My takeaways from the games:

- Howell is masterful going right and Bridgeland is really good at setting him up with his right hand to get into the key and create. Towards the end of each half, they essentially run him off screen rolls or isos and he is not really looking to pass, particularly if the game is good or if he is matched up against the other teams star player. He practices the crazy floaters and tough shots and wants to take them. Its hard, but if you can force him into jump shots and find a way to double him selectively, it will cause some issues.

Good/great players and teams all have bad spells where they don't quite function at the high level you're used to seeing them play at. I know little or nothing about Whitman or any of it's players. Specifically, by all accounts, Tim Howell is a great player on a great team. However, in watching the game vs CMS, I thought Howell was the primary reason the game went to OT, and Whitman didn't win it in regulation. Over the last maybe 6-7 minutes, it seemed like he really took some awful shots. He would drive, often times instead of passing to a much more open teammate, and while in the air and not being anywhere near either on balance or squared up to the basket, he would just push up a floater that had a less than zero chance of going in. Maybe this is just the way he plays. However, it certainly seemed like Whitman could have gotten a much better possession and better chance to convert. I think he also missed several free throws down the stretch and these, combined with the wild shot attempts, allowed CMS to send the contest to OT.

* Just shows how vulnerable any team, no matter how great they may be, is at this point in the season when the head of their dragon, either through his own lapse in play or through defensive pressure, is unable to breathe fire for a few or several important minutes.

Of course, in a testament to his ability, Mr. Howell turned right around to be great in the OT.

Live stats aren't working but I wouldn't be surprised if UWSP has 15 turnovers at half. Not taking care of the ball at all.

Platteville continues to be the worst streaming WIAC facility for some reason. Happened several times this year.

At least I don't have to have that heated discussion with my wife about going to Salem without her.

Point has 22 turnovers to Whitman's 17.  But Whitman scores 34 off the turnovers to Point's 8.

Hope they get it fixed in time to allow me a clear view of my alma mater's victory over UWP. 🏀 🙂

I was able to get live stats by going to the d3hoops home page and clicking on the live stats link on the right side where they show all of the scores.  Worked great.

Platteville the only semi final host without play by play and color. Boo!

Yeah, what's up with that? Does UWP rely upon student broadcasters that are on spring break, or what?

Can we also talk about the graphics. I know for a fact (since UWP streams through Stretch) they have a version of their streaming software with actual scoreboard graphics. They are doing something ... really weird to create those. Anyone who watches Hoopsville knows what those graphics are supposed to be used for. LOL

As for not having broadcasters (that really ticks me off since I considered going to UWP; wish I had known, may have offered my services and found a way to get there), I had the game(s) on mute anyway. LOL Couldn't handle a few other broadcasters tonight.

Platteville goes down.

Not only do they go down, but they do so AT HOME. 😔

Wow. Really? I don't think any of us realized that. Thanks for the heads up.  >:( ::) :P :)
