I find it amusing that they are going to Vegas to play Edgewood.

Suffice it to say that the D3hoops.com staff is not. We would prefer to not have this game played at our tournament -- it goes against what we stand for and the brand of the tournament. However, it was basically demanded by one of the two coaches.

I'll plead ignorance, Pat... could you explain your statement..... really curious....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I'll say this ... Pat isn't going to say more than he has. We help arrange the matchup and schedule (per se). We were not able to keep that match up from occurring.

Yes -- I'd say we get advice on the schedule, but we do not get consent.

I'm storing that one away. I like how you put that. :)

I don't understand.  It's two D3 teams playing each other on a neutral site.  How does that go against what you stand for?

Oh -- just in general that we'd like to have more even competition, and better competition for the better teams. We wouldn't generally pick that game for a team which made the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament if we had a choice.

Just an FYI - one of the things I do when looking at scheduling games is what are team's histories with the teams at the tournament that particular year (including what history do we have at the tournament). UWP and Edgewood had the highest number of games against one another in their history of any of the other match ups (both men and women) and it wasn't close in terms of the numbers. Personally, (a) would rather see a match-up "we" in DIII don't get to normally see unless we are lucky in March and (b) would rather not see a matchup that is a bit more routine.

Yeah. If it seems amusing or silly to you, then I'm sure it's the same to others.
