None of their incoming players are on that roster.  They must not have it updated yet.  A La Crosse paper did a preview for the team recently and it mentioned the entire recruiting class that was announced.

I noticed Stevens Point only had 24 games. Grinnell only has 24 as well and both are open after December 16 until the end of the month. That would be fun. Just sayin'.

I believe Grinnell is self-limiting to 24.  When the MWC moved to allow 25 from 23, Grinnell decided to only pick up one game.  I could be wrong, but I feel pretty strongly that I remember that from somewhere.

That's entirely possible. On the other hand, I don't ever see Semling lining up Grinnell or any system team as an opponent.

It's probably to help forestall the Grinnell live stats operator from developing carpal tunnel syndrome.

There is a new system ... they could get that rule and safety concerned parked. LOL

BTW - to the allusion of the two meeting each other, I don't think UWSP can do it at the very least (I haven't looked at Grinnel's schedule). UWSP heads out to California for a game on the 28th(?). I doubt Semling is going to sneak in a game after the 16th when he probably wants to give his guys a break (unlike East Coasters who want to throw their break in that they need to be eligible for the ECACs).

As I said, I don't think Semling would ever schedule Grinnell/Greenville. It's not beneficial for them. A few years ago I suggested playing Silver Lake just to fill their schedule. At least Grinnell is D3. Anyway, Grinnell doesn't play until after the new year. I think they could easily play that game on the 17th or 18th. As Ryan said, Grinnell may only limit themselves to 24 games.

Figured we could try and promote some of the hard work our columnists, like Ryan Scott, do on a weekly basis... so here it goes:

Around the Nation: Facing a new challenge

The 2018-19 season brings new challenges for coaches across Division III. For Pat Juckem, it's leaving a national finalist to follow a legendary coach at Wash U. For his replacement, it's keeping the Oshkosh momentum going. And for Bob Amsberry, it's replacing the best class in Wartburg women's basketball history. The Pointer Purple/Gold game is tonight. Hope someone can fill me in with a post game report.

5 games to kick off the opening week of the season.

St. Olaf at Eau Claire - Thursday
The Oles are ranked and should handle the Blugolds who lose Duff and Diekelman to graduation. Visitors return home with a win.

Lawrence at Stout - Friday - The Vikings and Blue Devil's both have new coaches. LU returns most of their squad, so they should win this one.

Finlandia at Stout - Saturday - Stout should hope to split the weekend series against a poor Finlandia team.

River Falls at Central - Saturday - Central is picked 2nd to last in the ARC while River Falls is predicted to finish 6th. The Falcons in a close one.

St. Mary's at La Crosse - Sunday - St. Mary's had one win last year. They won't match that Sunday.

The WARHAWKS scrimmaged Elmhurst last night winning the first session by 20+ and the second by 8.  The two teams tied in the third session and the BlueJays sank a three pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining to win a fourth session played with a running clock by a point.  The WARHAWKS starters put 90 on the board in the sessions in which they played.
