Good work Paulding! +1k

Point v Oshkosh is what the football pundits would call a 6-pointer. Whoever loses will probably be "relegated" and be out of the Pool C equation.

Conference Standings are bunched up going into the final week of the first go-around with
P-ville and Oshkosh at 4-1
LaX and Point at 3-2
Eau Claire and River Falls at 2-3 and
WW and Stout at 1-4

Point at Oshkosh this Wednesday should be the most interesting game this week. Having seen both when they played Platteville both gave Platteville trouble in the paint. Should be a typical wild WIAC in the 2nd half of the season.

I'm not sure we can say both are completely out with a loss. Either team at 19-8 including loss at La Crosee or Platteville in the WIAC final would be so interesting. That would leave them at a .7037 WP with gaudy SOS numbers. Oshkosh probably has the better wins and worse losses than Stevens Point right now. Either at 20-7 or 20-8 are also number to get them above .700.

Can Oshkosh continue to their streak and good play to get anywhere close to these numbers and Pool C? Can Stevens Point right the ship and get it rolling again? Can either get hot the last week of February and steal Pool A?

Also, can La Crosse continue to win the games they should to keep their good Pool C position? They are in a good position now. Their SOS is fine right now, but two Stout games and the Crown game are not going to be tremendously beneficial.

Everyone has two Stout games though, except...Stout.  ::)

La Crescent (MN) 6'3" G/F, Zach Todd, has committed to UWEC.

Brandon Spray is on crutches pregame tonight in Oshkosh.  It's a huge loss for a Pointer squad that is already ridiculously thin, without Spray UWSP can't matchup with the size of Oshkosh.

They probably couldn't with him. As you said, huge loss, regardless.

Looks like Aaron Knez isn't on the bench tonight either.  I'm not sure why but could be another loss to whatever depth the team had.

A buzzer beating 3 gives Point a 52-39 halftime lead. But Point goes cold twice in the 2nd half and can't stop Oshkosh from scoring. It's 100-90 with a minute to play.

Platteville beats Whitewater.
Eau Claire gets the road win.
La Crosse stops Stout.

Platteville started strong in both halves and survives late surges by WW and wins 77-56. Shields played the entire game which was a welcome sight for Platteville fans.

Thoroughly enjoyed the battle at Kolf last night. Never thought I'd see a Semling coached team give up 105! points. Pointers did not have the size and depth to compete when Flynn came back in the second half and the inside out game was working to a tee for Oshkosh. Of course it always helps to shoot lights out and the field goal percentage improved from 51% in the first half to 70% in the second half for the Titans. Career highs of 19 from Peterson and 20 from Borchert very key difference makers. Borchert's craft is still a work in progress, but obviously is more developed at this point than Timmerman and Sachtjen.

Mahoney's face injury is a bit concerning for Oshkosh, but they did just fine in second half with Peterson at PG and Borchert joining the second half starting five. Spray was in that walking boot and the Point radio men said he would for sure be out Saturday as well. They said he has a shot to play Wednesday against River Falls. I'd think a more likely scenario would be to give it another week until Feb. 5th in Whitewater with the 1st off. Knez not at the game is an interesting proposition for the Pointers.

Wednesday nights are always tough to catch all the games and get a good feel for the flow and momentum, but it's good to see Shields already back for Platteville. 16 points in 28 minutes coming back last night for the point guard. Mahoney and Spray are the key injuries to watch now in the WIAC.

I guess La Crosse at Eau Claire is highlighted match up on Saturday.

Good work, Paulding. +1

La Crosse and Platteville win again, so they look good for Pool C bids if they don't win the WIAC tournament. Oshkosh is rolling now, so watch out for them. They have some work to do to secure a Pool C slot, but their SOS will be very high playing the big dogs in the CCIW, among other quality opponents. Point and Eau Claire have their work cut out for them.

Point hosts Stout. Should be a win, but Point has dropped a few at home this year, so you never know.

Platteville travels up to River Falls for a tricky game but should come home with a W.

Whitewater entertains Oshkosh and the visitors shouldn't have any problem.

La Crosse heads north to Eau Claire. Best game of the day. Eagle pull out a close win.

Last time Point gave up 100 was at D2 Northern Michigan in 06-07 (which was a great UWSP team). Tom went to that game, if I recall correctly.

The last time a WIAC opponent scored 100 was in 90-91... Both Platteville and Whitewater hit the century mark.

To your point... it's exceedingly rare for Point to give up 80, let alone 90 or 100.

Madison La Follete 6'1" G, Ben Probst, will play basketball in the WIAC.  His recruitment is down to La Crosse, Platteville and Stevens Point.  A really good player for whichever program that lands him.
