Maybe they are playing for a better draft pick.

I wish it worked like that...UWSP could actually bring in a few recruits that way....instead of paying former players to come back and coach so they have enough players to practice.

Platteville wins 80-56 in Zorn tonight. Very balanced scoring with I think 5 Pioneers in double figures.  Very balanced team.

Greek Tragedy

Point comes back and wins but nearly blows it. 69-67 with less than 30 seconds left. Point misses a mid-range jumper and Stout gets the ball and is fouled with 9 seconds left. Stout misses both FTs but gets an offensive rebound. They get it kicked out for a real good look at a 3-pointer. Misses, scrum on the floor, Point gets it and is fouled. Then Point misses the first FT, but makes the 2nd. Stout inbounds with 3 seconds left and the defender basically lets the Stout guy run right by him (in fear of fouling him?), so he gets a wide open runner from 3 to tie it. Nothing but air. Point survives.

Wow, Point got a recruit....Mukwonogo PG, Ryan Genrich, will play for the Pointers.  He has been having a huge senior season and had an NAIA D1 offer from Clarke University.

WIAC Tournament

#1 UW-Platteville
#2 UW-Oshkosh
#3 UW-Eau Claire-UW-La Crosse winner
#4 UW-Eau Claire-UW-La Crosse loser
#5 UW-Stevens Point

Platteville and Oshkosh receive byes. Eau Claire-La Crosse loser clinches #4 by virtue of both having  2-0 H2H with Stevens Point.

Having watched the game online I agree. Platteville built up a 9 point lead at half and never looked back Eau Claire could never get back into the game. Platteville now gets a bye in the tournament and hosts Thursday and the final if they advance.

Greek Tragedy

Well, La Crosse can really put a nail into Eau Claire's Pool C chances with a win on Saturday. Eau Claire gets another vRRO with their loss to Platteville, but that drops them to 1-4 vRRO and then a La Crosse win puts Eau Claire at just 1-5 vRRO.

It should be noted that the wide open 3 was from 40ish feet, he just crossed mid-court.  From a Stout perspective it was a desperation heave.  It may have been wide open, but hardly high percentage.

Final: La Crosse 64, Eau Claire 54 in a good game against pretty even teams. FG% even, but La Crosse goes to the line 19 more times. Eagles 20-28 for FTs and Blugolds just 6-9.

Tuesday:

#6 UW-River Falls at #3 UW-La Crosse Time TBD
#5 UW-Stevens Point at #4 UW-Eau Claire Time TBD
