That can't be right. How could Elmhurst be ranked ahead of North Central, and yet NCC hosts a pod while EC has to travel to Wooster?

Maybe Elmhurst didn't bid to host?

This weekends games at Platteville could be interesting. Platteville vs Concordia I think Platteville should come out on top their only common opponent was LaX Concordia lost and Platteville beat twice. The interesting game will be St. Thomas and St. Nobert. St. Nobert has beaten both EC and Oshkosh while St. Thomas is at 23-4  with 2 of those loses coming at the hands of St. Johns the MIAC Conference champs. The only common opponent for Platteville and St. Thomas is Bethel which they both beat.

That's not likely. As we have been speculating  on CCIW Chat, it probably has to do with North Central's being within 500 miles of Nebraska Wesleyan while Elmhurst isn't.  In other words, it's about second-weekend considerations.

Apparently it did end up being about Elmhurst not putting in a bid because of facility issues and Elmhurst did end up being ranked ahead of NCC.

Adrian has two studs to contend to. And if NCC wins, a rematch with Oshkosh awaits, if the Titans get past Transylvania.

I've seen Adrian. Kalonji and Harris are the real deal. I don't envision the Bulldogs being a walkover at all for NCC.

I haven't seen Transy, so I have no idea if the Pioneers are likely to give UW-Oshkosh a battle.

I thought it would be close as to who would get the nod and it was. Co-Player of the Year goes to seniors Adam Fravert and Carter Voelker.

EDIT: Not as rare as I thought. Seventh time the WIAC has had Co-POY.

Just throwing this out there... the last time the WIAC had the defending national champion make the tournament was Whitewater in 2015... they proceeded to lose in the first round to the HCAC champ. ;)

HCAC was anybody's guess this season... anyone could beat anybody. Transy has won 12 of their last 13 games though so they come in with momentum. Main rotation has 2 seniors, 2 juniors, and 1 freshman with sophomores and juniors coming off the bench. Senior Gabe Schmitt and junior Michael Jefferson are the big names but 4 players averaged in double figures scoring and Brandon Cromwell was Freshman of the Year.
They shot 39.8% from 3 this year, 47.7% FG, 74.6% FT with only 11.6 turnovers per game

I would be curious to see what Whitewater's roster turnover was that year. Transylvania seems to be a frequent  HCAC NCAA participant, but you would know better than me. Oshkosh is on a good roll as well. Excited to watch some games online this weekend.

Three teams in the tournament  and this board is busy like usual.

Still busier than the HCAC board.
Transy hasn't been to the tournament since 2013 but it will be their 6th appearance since 2006. It was their first conference tournament crown since 2009. They've had three straight 17 win seasons coming into this year.

Casual fan scouting preview of the Eau Claire's opponent Whitman.

Explosive scoring team (avg. 97 pt/game) that loves to shoot the 3 ball and get to the line. On those 2 stats compared to Eau Claire, Whitman has shot 736 threes this season compared to 553 for Eau Claire. FT attempts is a 664-348 advantage to  Whitman. That does not bode well as Eau Claire has had a tendency to send teams to the line this season. Whitman has 4 guys (2 guards, 2 wing players) that have put up 100+ 3's this season. They do have a 7' guy, from what I can gather, doesn't seem to be much of a factor.

Surprisingly enough I was able to find one common opponent in Whitworth. Eau Claire played a neutral site game early in the season and won 77-75. Whitman on the other hand went 2-1 against them winning 89-80, 86-80 and losing 82-87 in between those two. Eau Claire will have to defend the perimeter, stay out of foul trouble and probably try and slow the game down a bit. Should be a good game tomorrow.

Good luck to all the WIAC teams tonight.

Concordia will make it closer than expected,  but Platteville  wins comfortably.

Oshkosh easily  dispatches of Transylvania.

Eau Claire and Whitman play a thriller as Whitman pulls out a single digit win.
