Blugolds up 41-36 at half. For the most part,  they've been in control of things the whole game, but the pressure defense Whitman plays along with their 3 point shooting can turn this game around in an instant.

Blugolds take down Whitman 78-61. Eau Claire opened up the second half on a 15-0 run over the first 5+ minutes and despite Robedeaux picking up foul #4 around the 10 minute mark were really never threatened the rest of the way. Hopefully rest of the WIAC does the same.

Platteville wins  86-74 over a stubborn Concordia team. Platteville led by 11 at half and when it seemed like they could put the game away Concordia  would go,on a mini run and at one point was with in 6 in the 2nd half. Platteville's had balanced scoring with 3 starters and 2 reserves scoring in double figures led by reserve Justin Fox with 18 points.  Platteville now plays St. Thomas who out lasted St. Noberts in the opening game.  Saturday will be a test between the MIAC and the WIAC with EC playing St Johns and Platteville playing St Thomas.

Wow!

My Midwest (MN) bias may be showing here, Greek, but those are 6 Goliath teams this year. Everyone will definitely earn that berth to the sweet sixteen.

UWEC is in an appropriate spot,  as are UWO and NCC, based on the season. Platteville and UST is the unfortunate result of geography, a strong west region, and trying to avoid first weekend rematches.

Here is how Massey has these round of 32 games:

#16-Wash U at #12-Nebraska Wesleyan
#8-Oshkosh at #9-North Central

#2-St. Thomas at #7-Platteville
#22-Eau Claire at #1-St. John's

Tough bracketing always in the Central/West.

Oh, I think those teams are, on the court, better than their spots.  I just meant to point out that Oshkosh and Eau Claire (and probably WashU, as well) don't necessarily have records to match their abilities.  If we substituted St Norbert or Benedictine for any of those three, people wouldn't complain - and they were all right next to each other in the rankings.

I was following you for sure.

And great call on Yeshiva from day one.

Pomona looked pretty good, too.  I think I'm getting pretty good with the old eye test, especially if I get to see them in person.  I wasn't 100% in on Yeshiva until I got to see them up close on their trip down here to the Eastern Shore.  Gabe Leifer is a deceptively big dude.  Maybe not as tall as you'd expect, but he can take up space.

This is what Massey is predicting for those four games:

Nebraska Wesleyan 77, Washington (MO) 73  (NWU 63%, WU 37%)
UW-Oshkosh 70, North Central (IL) 69  (UWO 52%, NCC 48%)
UW-Platteville 72, St. Thomas (MN) 71  (UWP 52%, UST 48%)
St. John's 69, UW-Eau Claire 59  (SJU 82%, UWEC 18%)

Of course, you can throw out the first prediction, as it doesn't take into account the loss of Nate Schimonitz and his 26 ppg for the Prairie Wolves. The Bears have certainly been hit by injuries as well, but they've had the time to adjust and to make a virtue out of necessity by getting younger players valuable experience. Schimonitz, by contrast, went down in the ARC tourney semifinal.
