Caleb Flaten-Moore (6-6) of Oconomowoc has committed to Whitewater. Flaten-Moore earned first-team all-Classic Eight Conference honors in 2019-20.

6'5" Farmington(MN) G/F, Carter Huschka, will play collegiate basketball at Eau Claire.

Another tough loss for the Pointers at a position of need.  6'6" Wausau East F, Gabe Krueger, will be going to college at UW-Madison.  UWSP showed a lot of interest, aleast he isn't going to another WIAC school.

Hauser brother's transferring from Marquette....coming home to UWSP??

Yes I know it's not happening.

It'll be interesting where they go and find out the real reason why they are transferring. I'm not going to even amuse myself with the thought they'd come home. LOL

Watched Marquette all year.  Constantly frustrated watching Howard have the ball all the time, take all the shots and then the team play took over after Howard sat down.  Hausers announce a day after we here that Howard is coming back next year.  Coincidence?  Maybe-maybe not.

OK. Here's another old poster returning to the board. Two questions: Was SOS the reason EC bested La Crosse for the tourney bid ? Also, with all due respect - what has caused the usually potent Warhawk program to struggle ? I trust and hope you are all well amid this virus chaos.

1.  Sorry no clue.

2. This year we just made too many mistakes and unfortunately more often than not at exactly the wrong moment.  Of 12 conference loses 10 were by two possessions and generally less.   It was frustrating because in many of those games we had second half leads and seemed to implode down the stretch.

How's it going? Nice to see you post...how's that other guy, chmarx?

EC had a better SOS .590 to .541. I think that's a pretty big gap even though La Crosse beat EC twice. EC also had a 3-8 vRRO while La Crosse was 2-5. Again, that's probably significant. Of course, LX's two wins were against EC. EC had wins against Oshkosh, Platteville and Whitworth. It's to be noted, I believe, that EC's losses to LX weren't even part of their 3-8 vRRO because LX wasn't even ranked in the 4th and last public regional rankings. That would've put them at 13 results.

Madison La Follette G, Derek Gray, has committed to Whitewater.

I'm not sure some of the pool C experts would 100% agree with me, but looking back now, I think Eau Claire and La Crosee were fairly close in the primary criteria, with La Crosse winning the head to heads even though Eau Claire had the better SOS. The fact that Eau Claire's non conference SOS was .635 to La Crosse's .485 was a big different maker for me.

Whether, it came down to this, all the way the secondary criteria, we'll never know.

It is certainly interesting comparing their non-conference schedules and how those played out and the teams they scheduled.

As an aside, I get way too anxious and excited this time of year waiting for teams to post schedules for next season to see what WIAC coaches do and how they fill their 11 non conference games.

GK--you should appreciate exaggeration when you see it. I obviously missed stout guys "recent" post.

Brian--my observation on WW was that they had less talent than I've ever seen a WW team have. They had one very good player and then the drop off was precipitous. But most of them are back next year.

Mayor, you should appreciate sarcasm when you see it too, hence all the emojis.  ;D

As Badger said, WW had a lot of close games and probably about 10 games that were single digit losses. No research here, but Badger mentioned that there were games where they led at the half as well.

As a Pointer fan, I probably dislike Whitewater the most, but that didn't stop me from picking them and Ards in several fantasy leagues in anticipation of a substantial uptick for the Warhawks next season.
