Northern Michigan transfer, Hart Holmgren, will continue his basketball career at Oshkosh.  This could be a big get for Oshkosh based on his athleticism.

stoutguy--good to see a post from you! When's the last time you posted b4 4/7? 2001?

Hope you are doing well. Have you quit drinking Corona?

I saw it myself and thought "he's still alive."    ;-)

Hey BW.  Hope all goes well with you.  Andrist wanted to have me ask you if you were still keeping that clock going at WW.  I just won't let that die will I?

Still upright and breathing SG.  They haven't kicked me off the table yet.  Tell Eddie that I always liked him.  You could tell he was perturbed but at least he was decent about it.  Plus he had an interesting personality.  I'll never forget running the clock when Eddie and the #8 seeded Blue Devils took it to us in the opening round of the conference tournament.  Man, that one hurt.   lol

Take care and stay safe friend.
It's funny that you brought that Stout/WW game.   I will always remember Ed calling 50 different friends on the bus telling them the score without telling them who won.  They would immediately go into the "well you had a great season anyway" and then he would tell them who won.  It was classic Eddie.  By the way he always liked you.

Still drinking Corona but the word conjures up different reactions these days.  Hope everything is well in RF.

BW and GT: Sorry for being slow in responding. BW, your Hawks did pull one out at Mitchell Hall. I did not get the impression that the roster lacked talent as has been suggested. GT: Thanks for your always fine analysis vis a vis the tourney bid. Also, thanks to Stevens Point for sending us two good coaches in a row. They have revived our once moribund program. Coach Dernbach is a great guy and is doing an excellent job here at La Crosse. 20 win seasons have been rare in these parts. Thanks for your inquiry regarding my pal chmarx. He has had some health issues which made it impossible for him to attend the games this past season, but he is still ornery. This, of course,is a good sign. Let's hope we have a season in the 20-21 school year.

BTW: What do we think about the admittedly unlikely possibility that St. Thomas could wind up in the league ? I think they are ill advised to pursue D1 status, and would be happy to have them on board in the WIAC. Of course, it's a much shorter trip for teams on the western side of the state and still a long haul for Platteville. I still think it's where they'd best fit.

I used to have to drive from Platteville to the Cities for work I agree there are no direct routes but it will also be a hike for Oshkosh. WW and SP is long trip but they will be on 4 lane highways. Is St. Thomas backing off of D-1 because of the Covid situation if so I thought they would go D-2 and join the Northern Sun Conference. If they do join the WIAC  look out for their sophomore guard Anders Nelson he gave Platteville fits during the NCAA tournament last month.

Racine St Catherine's F, Elijah Lambert, committed to NDSCS.  Had connections to both WW and UWSP through his high school coach and got a lot of interest from both.  He is one of the best defenders in the state and somebody I thought would be an instant contributor.  UWSP will just have to continue picking up their plan C and D recruits.

Port Washington 6'4" G/F, Evan Lilly, has committed to La Crosse.

Kenosha Indian Trail 6'1" G, Jeremiah Suber, has committed to UWEC.

Greek Tragedy

There was talk when Amherst's Hixon retired who would be on the Mount Rushmore of D3 men's basketball. Obviously Bo Ryan's name was mentioned.

I decided to check out Semling's resume and it's pretty impressive, compared to other names mentioned outside of Bo Ryan. I really didn't realize he's been at Point for 15 years. The other name that popped up was Pat Miller, with two NCAA championships as well. I didn't realize he's been at Whitewater for 20 years. Wow.

Probably not in the convo, but still pretty good.

Bob Semling (Stevens Point)

Kenosha Tremper 6'4" F, Jake Gross, has committed to La Crosse.

6'4" Laconia G/F, Reed Gunnink, has committed to Platteville.  Gunnink had a D2 offer from Minnesota-Crookston and took a visit there, good get for Platteville and pairing with Pearson and Probst make for a very solid future backcourt.

It's a shame UWSP Intramural league had to shut down, robbing the Pointers of a possible recruiting hot bed.

Some of those kids would "help" the program as much as quite a few of the recruits they have brought in the last years.
