What an embarrassment the announcers are for this Platteville/Point game tonight.  They are literally the worst I have ever heard.  Not only do they not know the game of basketball but one of the announcers said while yelling on air, "no foul?, Jesus Christ."

The pbp or the color? I believe the Platteville Chancellor is doing color for the basketball games this year.

News story on Philip Flory and the road that brought him to UWSP.  The biggest thing to take from this if you're a Pointer fan is Flory plans to take this season as a free season and play 2 more years after this with UWSP.

Platteville's Chancellor Shields has been doing color. It may not be perfect but Platteville's broadcasts this year are much better than last year where they had only one camera which was way up in the bleachers and the sound was the PA announcer.

I wasn't talking about the video quality if that's what you're alluding to.  I have no qualms with the video of the broadcast.  The play by play announcers for the live feed is a different story.  For someone to be yelling on their broadcast about officiating and saying "jesus christ'' about a no call is ridiculous and unprofessional.  If you can't keep those thoughts off the air, you shouldn't be doing the play by play.  I've never heard something like that from any other broadcast, and I've listened to every school UWSP has played against in the past 15 years.

I agree that has no place on the air. I rarely hear any of the broadcast I live in a Wifi hole so I usually watch on my phone at a local sports bar and the volume on my phone isn't loud enough to compete with the jute box and I don't have any ear buds. On another note will WW and Oshkosh make up their cancelled game or now that the NCAA has cancelled the D3 tourney getting the required games in isn't a factor will they just not make it up?

I tend to think Whitewater/Oshkosh will not be made up. Monday's are really the only chance to make games up and they skipped one chance already. Now they could prioritize the division game and play it next Wednesday or Friday but then Eau Claire and Stout would have to play three times.

WIAC Championship format.  No special tiebreakers released yet.

Do the "crossover" games count toward the standings for placement in the WIAC tourney?  As of right now, La Crosse and Platteville both sit in first place in their respective divisions, but they have to play a home-away the final week for their crossover.  If these games count for tourney placement, it will have implications for both teams heading into the first week of March.

When the season was announced the league stated that cancelled games would not be made up.  All games count.

Here's the structure:

West #3 Seed at East #2 Seed, 7:00 PM
East #3 Seed at West #2 Seed, 7:00 PM
East #4 Seed at West #1 Seed, 7:00 PM

Wednesday, March 3
Semifinals
Winner of East #1/West #4 vs. Winner of East #3/West #2, 7:00 PM
Winner of East #2/West #3 vs. Winner of East #4/West #1, 7:00 PM

With the women's WIAC tournament taking place the same three nights (they opted not to stagger to a T/Th/S format for the opposite gender), there's a strong potential for several W/M doubleheaders to take place, especially on March 1 for the opening round, but possibly on Wed. and Friday, too.

This was new last year. They did this to avoid playing on the day before selections are announced which is also the day of committees finalizing selections. Also they could move to this day as a last resort if weather were an issue.

Seeding procedures have been updated on the site. Division games only to determine the seeds.

By the looks of it if Platteville and Oshkosh win out this week there would be a coin toss.

Also, the Eau Claire women have already won their West division even before play starts tonight.

Just to help (I know Paulding knows what I'm saying)... that final Sunday all selections are determined and the brackets are done. The selection process tends to be going on in the afternoon to early evening (though, committees rather not be waiting for last minute games) and then the brackets are done in the evening/night. The announcement is then on Monday.

Committees have been making requests games not take place on Sunday considering how difficult it makes things. I am noticing a few conferences who finally understand that and are backing off to Sunday. The weather component is significant as one conference a few years ago nearly has to send their AQ selection to the DIII committee (in MBB) before the championship game was even played because of weather and power issues that day. They got a small time extension and got it done, but ... that is a risky venture trying to be the Big Ten.

Well, I'm already in off-season/recruiting mode because this years' version of UWSP basketball is terrible.  Cliff McCray is absolutely brutal to watch, quite possibly the worst basketball IQ I have ever seen.

I sure hope having Philip Flory on the squad gets UWSP his brother Grant.  He would fill a huge void as a physical 6'6" post with some athleticism to boot.  There are a couple other guys Point is after that would be huge recruiting wins as well.
