In my experience, Amherst is pronounced Am-herst.  I have never lived in Wisconsin, but I have spent an extraordinary amount of time in both Portage and Marathon Counties.  Vilas gets an honorable mention.

The proper/preferred choice by Amherst alums ....is the "h" is silent.  There are some Nescac rivals on the board that have other ways to call out the Amherst teams :).

Does anyone have an update on Mahoney's status?

Will Mahoney shown with big knee brace and crutches tonight in team photo. Could be a big loss for Oshkosh if he's not ready and 100% for the season.

Judging by social media, he looks all right.

Knowing how much respect he had for TVD, I wonder if titan2000/East Beast has already bought his tickets?   :o

I remember Coach TVD well.  He was a crazy man.   ;)

Congrats to him.

UW-Platteville has posted a roster, however no freshman are listed yet. Most everyone is back as expected and they will be really good. Drew Gunnink and Justin Jarvensivu are not listed. If Gunnink is indeed not returning this year, it would be a loss of one starter from last year.

NESCAC starts on October 15th this year---they were going to do it last year to give them an extra buffer for potential COVID outbreaks and decided to carry it over to this year. There appears to be some optimism amongst the coaches that it could be a permanent change.

I've seen multiple pictures on social media of UWSP basketball players participating in workouts together.  I have to say, I hope there are some guys missing because the roster is very underwhelming.  I was hoping that some unexpected transfers would head over to UWSP, or at the very least, the 4 players who opted out last season to return.  It doesn't look like anything on that front happened.  I've seen Garrett Nelson, Peter Timmermann, Zach Mootz, Cliff McCray, Mayson Hazaert, Isaac Woelfer, Ryan Peterson, Ryan Genrich, Elijah Vander Velden, AJ Makinen, Brennan Timm, Darrius Bolden, Angelo Rizzo and Joey Saunders.  That's 14 players, which is definitely on the low end as far as numbers go.

Philip Flory isn't back, Espensen transferred to UW-La Crosse, Levi Ewan and Logan Vander Velden don't look to be back.  I assumed the 4 opt outs were Jacob Newhouse, Trey Zastrow, Vaughn Breit and Logan Mulhern.  I haven't seen any of them involved on these social media posts.  I expected a lot of future production out of Mulhern, Newhouse and Zastrow.  It's just really disappointing that the program has been down for years now with no sign of heading in an upward direction.

Is the UWP roster old (even though it says 2021-22)?  I thought Meerstein transferred?
