River Falls 87, Eau Claire 42. Sometimes it's good to be wrong.
WORLD'S OLDEST FALCON FAN.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

'95 Blugold

Falcons open the second half with a 20-5 run and squashed any idea UWEC had for a second half comeback. So bad was the Blugold scoring that if River Falls would have been held scoreless in the second half the game it would have went to overtime tied at 42. Paige hit his first two 3s at the start of the game and the Blugolds proceeded to go 1-20 from beyond the arc.

That was a crazy game at Stout. Stevens Point finally spot well and it kept them in the game. Stout kinda blew game to be honest. I guess Lake doesn't foul late up 3? Big mistake IMO. Well, they did foul, but horribly in the act of shooting. Nelson scores 5 in the final 0.5 as Stout threw the nobody touched it baseball pass and Stevens Point drew up the perfect in bounds play without a timeout.

La Crosse loss at home to Stout looks even more puzzling after how Stout played Friday. T25 voters have to be so confused by La Crosse and Platteville lately.

River Falls has looked good recently. No horrible losses this season. I will be interested to see if they can crack Regional Rankings.

Hopefully this incoming snow storm doesn't alter any WIAC games Monday and Tuesday, but this is reason why Sunday afternoon is now open on the schedule, just in case.

First a foul on the three point shot.  (Total screw up.)  Then with .05 time to kill an inbound thrown the length of the floor untouched out of bounds rather than just inbound and go to overtime.   Finally to top it off they allow a Point player to get inside them under the basket for a bunny.  (Huh, they did what?)  Then a player follows the officials off the floor screaming at them.  Like they screwed up. Seriously?

I do like this new tournament format and it has nothing to do with Point winning. It gives the lower seeds at least another game and a chance to wear the slipper. The top seeds can't complain about, "playing the 7th or 8th seed does nothing for us." It awards teams for finishing higher up the standings, 1st and 2nd get double byes avoiding playing 7th and 8th seeds right away, and 3rd and 4th seeds get a bye as well. . The ladder format is something I would consider as a permanent move but probably won't ever happen.

Wow domination of the Valley continues.

Top ranked Neenah 6'5" F, Carter Thomas, has committed to Oshkosh.  Huge get for the Titans, kind of sick of seeing these commitments at this point.

Greek Tragedy

I haven't seen anything yet, but it'll be interesting if Point and River Falls travel today for their games. Freezing rain throughout the southern part of the state last night and going through today.

It appears the games are on based on Twitter previews, But, games are always on until they're off...

Oshkosh and this coaching staff taking full advantage of their inherited advantage of being in the Fox Valley and getting the top recruits. Titans continue to reload for the future.

6'1" Osseo(MN) G, Tyirice Waits, committed to Stout yesterday.  From the looks of it, good get for the Stout program.

Greek Tragedy

Valiant effort by Point. Down 10 late, they get within 1 and force La Crosse to ice it at the line. They don't, missing FTs, but Point can't get a rebound to save themselves. La Crosse eventually wins it 74-70.

Are the last two games something to build on or a false dawn? Who knows? Will Semling be around next year?

Stevens Point finally went a little cold in the middle of the second half and La Crosse was able to build a lead. Point got back within one, but it wasn't enough. Nelson had a good, deep look for three for the tie, but it was off the mark and the Eagles survived.

River Falls never really got it going against Whitewater and fell behind early. Falcons missed a lot of open looks and Whitewater got to the basket often for some easy finishes at the rim for a blowout game.

I'm expecting two excellent semifinal games. Two somewhat struggling teams, Platteville and La Crosse will battle for a third time in as many months after two close games previously. Whitewater seems to match up well against Oshkosh as the Warhawks and Titans battle for the second time in two mid weeks.

Big loss for Stout...Lovell Williams is leaving Stout to enter the transfer portal, I'd assumed he would be the go-to guy starting next year.
