Whitewater is dangerous, whether they shoot 69% from 3 or not. They are very athletic. They have 5 losses but none of them are "clunkers". They lost to Hope when Evan Thomas was playing, NCC when the Helwig brothers combined for 48, Eau Claire, Oshkosh and La Crosse. However, the rest of their nonconference schedule puts them behind the 8 ball because their SOS is so bad.

Do they still have the head coach with the Fran McCaffery tendencies, just not the hair? Recall seeing them in tourney maybe 10 years ago. Needed some ludes.
World travel isn't all its cracked up to be. Neither is Duluth/Superior.

Checking the live stats...I see conference leading scorer, Brody Fox, hasn't played at all today.  I'm assuming injury but that would be a guess.

Big get for the Pointers today.  6'2" Columbus G, AJ Uttech, has committed to UWSP.

Uttech is ranked 44th in the Wisconsin senior class and having a huge senior season after playing very well over the summer.  Great start and now Point needs a bunch of length, size and more shooting.

UWRF/WW not predictable: RF beat WW 76-59. Payne played little, exiting with 2 minutes gone first half. Ended up w/9, all second half. Jedwabney w/17 led RF. RF starts no seniors, none on team.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Platteville wins at SP 66-63. Platteville led for most of the game. My wifi went out in the 2nd half until late in the game. It looks like Platteville held its lead and made their free throws down the stretch.

Well, actually, they missed the front end of a 1 and 1 to give Point a chance to tie it with 2 seconds left. PbP just says Mootz turned it over.

Apparently, no one wants a Pool C bid except La Crosse. Whitewater goes into Platteville and beats them by 20 and then hosts River Falls and loses by 16? Eau Claire has lost 3 of 4.

La Crosse escapes a barn burner in Eau Claire. Eau Claire ties it at 66 with 27 seconds left after being down 66-58 with 3 minutes to go. La Crosse drives to the basket with 5 seconds left and Fuhrmann fouled, makes both FTs. 5 seconds left and Eau Claire drives to the basket, but it's blocked at the buzzer. EC's bench goes ballistic and the crowd goes nuts. Lots of bodies down there at the end. Hard to tell if there was enough contact to warrant a call.

I went to Menomonie first to see Oshkosh keep Stout at arm's length for the whole game and then made it to Zorn to see a great game.

I know attendance records are taken with a grain of salt, but Stout's boxscore says there were 289 there and Eau Claire's boxscore says there were 330. There was easily 3x as many people at the Eau Claire game. This website says Zorn holds 2400 and Johnson Fieldhouse seats 1800.

The fact of the matter is that no one in the league is really that good.

Yep, rolled his ankle and was in a boot per broadcast.

Meanwhile Brock Voigt already back for Eau Claire yesterday in the loss to La Crosse.

Yea, EC should have been at the line to tie. it was pretty obvious.

It was probably much easier if you were on EauClaire's side of the floor.   ;)

I was in the upper level for most of the game. Before the final play, I made it down to the floor, but at the opposite end so I could beat the rush out of Zorn for my 4 hour ride home. So, yeah, honestly, it was hard to tell from that level and location.

Drew Pasteur's updated Bracketology is out. It's a great source of information. Bookmark it if you already haven't.

http://www.fantastic50.net/d3h_men.html

There's several different levels when it comes to Pool C:
1. Locks/near locks
2. Strong contenders
3. Bubble in
4.Bubble out
5. Fringe
6. Long shots

La Crosse and Oshkosh are two of the first 3 "bubble in" teams with a 72% and 71% chance of getting in. Oshkosh is highlighted as the conference leader.

Platteville (8%) is a mid-table fringe contender while Eau Claire is near the bottom of the same group. Platteville is considered #33 and Eau Claire #37 in the Pool C conversation. There's 20 Pool C slots available.

Whitewater is in the Long Shot category at #48.

Take this info for what it's worth, but since 2016, he's gotten 93% of the Pool C teams correct.

In his mock regional rankings:

Region 9
1. Oshkosh
2. La Crosse
3. Illinois College
4. Platteville
5. Carleton
6. Bethany Lutheran
7. St. Mary's MN

Just go watch it online. Clear foul and no call. It happens. It's too bad, he would have still needed to make 2 ft's. I give EC coach props. Handled it like a professional.

Eau Claire Memorial 6'5" G/F, Mason Stoik, has committed to Stout.  Has really improved his game the past couple seasons, turned himself into a really good shooter.
