Oshkosh (10-1, 17-5) at Whitewater (7-4, 16-6)
The Titans have reeled off 8 in a row now with only 2 of those results single digits wins. Whitewater's Pool C hope are all but dashed, so conference seeding is a priority. The Warhawks have won 3 in a row after their shock defeat at home to River Falls. This will be closer than the 18-pt loss at Oshkosh, but the result will be the same for the hosts.

La Crosse (8-3, 17-5) vs Stout (1-10, 5-16)
The Eagles try to keep pace with Oshkosh as they play host to Stout. The Eagles have 5 losses and all are at home. Any slip up against lesser opponents was answered as they buried the Pointers last time out. Stout trying to play spoiler, but they haven't been competitive in a few games. The Blue Devils did put a scare into the Eagles in Menomonie, only losing by 3. I don't see that happening again in La Crosse.

Platteville (6-5, 13-9) vs Eau Claire (5-6, 13-9)
The Pioneers have been a model of inconsistency. After dropping two OT home conference games to start the season, they won 4 in a row. Now, they've lost 3 of 5. One of their signature wins at the time was at Eau Claire. The Blugolds have been equally inconsistent. After high water wins over Oshkosh and at Whitewater, Eau Claire have lost 5 of 7 including aa loss at Stevens Point. They'll try to avoid the season sweep at the hands of Platteville, but I'll take the home team.

River Falls (4-7, 10-12) at Stevens Point (3-8, 10-12)
It's a battle for the last conference playoff spot (assuming it's still 6 teams) as Point tries to avenge their earlier loss at River Falls. They've been blown out on the road the last 2 games, so some home cooking will taste good. The Falcons have been competitive, even in their losses, recently. They'll go into Quandt hoping for a season sweep and a stranglehold on the 6th seed. Point in a close one.

Yep, expecting three close games and probably one wash out.

Point's season is over, might as well play the young guys the next 2 games.

Greek Tragedy

Point had a 9-point halftime lead and then a 56-51 lead with under 6 minutes to go. They were promptly outscored 18-6, losing 69-62. The ability to go long stretches of not scoring or the lack of scoring is uncanny for this team. I can probably count on one hand the highs for this team. Such a disappointment. I hope it's just a very big bump in the road to a more successful season next year. Going from 4-17 and 0-14 in the league to here is an improvement, but not good enough.

Oshkosh wins at Whitewater 72-68.

La Crosse blows out Stout 82-42.

Eau Claire knocks off Platteville in OT 87-84.

Try to get the word out on senior nights again this year. Platteville held senior night Wednesday and only honored a manager.

It means, Brad Nies, who has started every game this season for Platteville will return for another season.

Second to last season already where listed first year seniors can come back for another year!

Oshkosh: 72
WARHAWKS: 68

After the Titans scored the first basket the WARHAWKS quickly answered and took the lead.  The WARHAWKS held the lead for the rest of the half.  Though the lead did reach eleven at one point for the most part it was a couple possessions and stood at seven, 36-29, at the buzzer.  Oshkosh quickly erased that in the early second half and after a brief lead the game went back and forth until the WARHAWKS regained the lead and built it to six points, 54-48, around the twelve minute mark.  But the Titans rallied, regained the lead a couple minutes later, and the once again the game went back and forth until about six minutes.  At that point the Titans went ahead 62-60 and led the remainder of the contest.  The WARHAWKS cut the lead to four with just under a minute but were unable to close it out.  Trevon Chislom finished one rebound short of a double-double with 20 points and 9 rebounds.  Jameer Barker added 19 and Miles Barnstable 10 for the WARHAWKS

Though seeds are still pending the field for the conference playoffs has been determined.

Most schools still let those seniors that are coming back still go thru senior night.  Never know for sure if they will play again.

Austin Ash went thru two at Iowa, and is still playing this year, so he might do three.

My opinion with just two games to go. POTY still has four candidates. Top three of Borchert, Pearson, and Voigt in alpha order. Then maybe Plamann still as a fourth option but a notch below the other three.

My opinion with two games to go, newcomer of the year is still open as well. No freshman lighting it up. Group to pick from includes Butler, Gillie, Leifker, Paider, and Thomas in alpha order. Paider probably the favorite however.

I don't know how you can have a newcomer of the year list and not include WW's Miles Barnstable.  He is the definition of a freshman lighting it up averaging almost 15 points a game.  He is a shoe in.

Well yeah, good call, my bad. In my head I thought he was already older, closer to his brothers age and not a freshman.

Greek Tragedy

I'm thinking it's leaning towards Borchert. He's at 14.8 ppg/10.7 rpg. Pearson leads at 19.4 ppg and 5.9 rpg. Voigt is at 16.9/7.5. I think Borchert gets it because Oshkosh is 11-1 in conference, while Platteville and Eau Claire are just at 6-6 each. I think if Pearson or Voigt's numbers were significantly higher, they would have a shot, but their teams are only at .500.

I don't see anyone except Miles getting the rookie/freshman/first year/newcomer (or whatever they call it now) of the year award.

All three Stout seniors will be honored today and end their careers according to the broadcast. Briggs, Hoaglund, and Moe.

Stout leads by 12 at half. Road games so so tough. I've noticed every team in the WIAC plays way better at home and their play is way worse on the road. Probably always been, but it seems way more exaggerated this season.

I disagree. La Crosse seems to play better on the road. They're 9-3 and all 3 losses are at home. Whitewater, Platteville and Oshkosh. Overall, they are 18-5 with those non-conference losses at home as well. St. Mary's and Trine.

Whitewater is 7-5 with 4 of those losses at home.

From the live feed, I can only see 13 players dressed for UWSP tonight against UWEC.  Ryan Peterson, Dylan Ruder and Elijah Vander Velden aren't in the building.  That would make 7 departures of the program this season if they in fact have left the team.

Greek Tragedy

Well, they are all still on the roster. Ruder played "extended minutes" Wednesday against River Falls. Peterson played 10 minutes last weekend at La Crosse and played 17 minutes the previous game vs Whitewater. Vander Velden last played against Whitewater.

Leaving the program with 2 games to go?
