Greek Tragedy

I thought I read here a few times that this was Point's last year or probation/recruiting restrictions, so I'm guessing it's not a coincidence that they also let Semling go...kind of wiping their hands clean of the whole Semling era and starting anew.

Agree. He did a lot of great things but the probation, winning four games a year ago, attendance dwindled mightily...things that can't happen at a place like that.

Whitewater trailed by 8 in the first half before cutting it to 1... and then allowed Wabash to hit a runner at the buzzer to trail by 3 at the break.

One of the Barnstables was held scoreless in the first half and scored 15 points in the first 4 minutes.

They've been hot in the second and lead 54-48 with about 12 minutes left.  They've led by as many as 9 here in the second half

90-83 Whitewater wins.  Freshman Miles Barnstable with 26 in the second half to lead UWW.

Tons of fouls in this one... UWW was 28/40 from the line and Wabash was 27/34. UWW only 6 TO's

Warhawks will play the winner of Case Western and Arcadia at CWRU in Ohio.  The hosts are big favorites in the game that starts in a few minutes.

Oshkosh will tip at about 7:05 or so.

Arcadia gave the hosts all they wanted (believe someone on Hoopsville predicted a close game as Arcadia's record was a bit deceiving; a number of losses without their best player) before falling 82-76...

Oshkosh with an expected easy win, 86-58 over Fontbonne. Might be a little tougher tomorrow. Good luck to Whitewater and Oshkosh. Fly the WIAC flag.

Tournament really begins tomorrow for the WIAC. See if they can fair better than last year's 0-3 in the second round. Two home favorite loses and one road dog lose last year. This year we get one home favorite and one road dog.

Hoping for much better results!

It's going to be tough tomorrow. Oshkosh did beat Hope in Michigan earlier in the year. Hope is playing really well now, so Oshkosh has their work cut out for them. Aside from their conference tournament loss, Oshkosh has also been killing it since, basically, the beginning of the calender year.

Whitewater has their toughest game of the year tomorrow. CWRU was the best UAA team this year and they have a ton of experienced players, including 2 or 3 5th year grad students. I'm sure you don't need reminding that Case knocked out Oshkosh last year on their home floor. Whitewater can return the WIAC favor tomorrow.

Looks like Ryan Kane is already busy making the transition to Carthage. Stout coach Jim Lake stepped in as NCAA site rep in Oshkosh. Lake is our RAC member.

Curious who will be our Region 9 representative on the national committee next season.

UWO joins Whitewater and also advances to the Sweet 16 with 51-50 victory over Hope...  UWO had a chance to make it a three point game late (0:10 left,) but missed the front end of the bonus.  Hope then calls a timeout after the rebound, and I can't help but wonder if they'll second guess that decision...  UWO had three fouls to give and proceeded to use them all and were able to drain about 6-7 seconds off the clock. Hope misses an elbow jumper as the buzzer sounds. Will Mahoney leads the way for UWO with 23 points.

With the WIAC going 4-0 this weekend, I can't help but wonder how La Crosse might've fared, especially after seeing the UAA put five teams in the tournament but failing to get a single team through to the Sweet 16...  (I know, La Crosse was not the same team from earlier in the season with Anderson trying to play through an injury...)

Whitewater and Oshkosh get neutral games in the Sweet 16. A good thing to not play hosts right away. Creates some early tips. 3 and 3:45 CT respectively.

Curious if Oshkosh might just bus to Alliance. Appleton to Chicago to Akron feels like a lot for what've been a guaranteed bus last year at 577 miles.

Regardless, going to a long Wednesday of travel for the Warhawks and Titans.
