And now who steps in at UWL

Would hate to see Coach Fano leave Saint Mary's. I know he lives in LAX and would be a fantastic hire. He has done a wonderful job at SMU

They can do better than this.

Lacrosse should have no problem hiring a good head coach or up and coming assistant.
What are the odds former La Crosse assistant Kenny Finco steps down at Ripon to take over the program he helped build with Dernbach?

Coach Finco's fiancé is the soccer coach at Ripon.
But would he go back? UWL has a lot more to offer than Ripon. Isn't even close.

What does that even mean? LOL

Baumgartner from Medford and Prey from Newman already committed this morning.

Also think Cannon and Cory have a good chance as staying as assistant coaches at UWSP with Dern hire. Hopefully press conference is streamed so we can learn more.

Two great additions.  No doubt.  The current (out-going) staff worked very hard on these two players.

It'll be interesting if any current players decide to transfer now that Semling is gone.

While I'm still not happy about the decision to let Coach Semling go (and even more unhappy with the WAY that it was done), I think this is the right move for the program.  Congrats to Coach Dernbach!

When Kent's name was in the mix for the UWSP job, I found this podcast that he did last summer.

https://hoopheadspod.com/kent-dernbach---university-of-wisconsin-la-crosse-mens-basketball-head-coach---episode-650/

It talks a lot about how he got to where he is now (well, how he got to where he was, then)... and it made me think that the Point job is one that he would accept if offered. Worth the listen IMO.

Yeah, amazing how Dernach's press release was glowing and talked about all his accomplishments in detail. Semling, on the other hand...

It's as if the current AD and assistant AD didn't like/care for Coach Semling and that's why the press release was written the way it was.... It wouldn't be the first time there was an AD and coach who didn't get along!  Unfortunately, what Coach Semling accomplished in his time at Point seemed to be marginalized and that's disappointing regardless of who your favorite team is!

If they were there for Sem and only Sem, they would've left already.
